Week 7 of 5/week #workouts. Do my muscles ripple and gleam in the sun like the haunches of a fine Arabian stallion? No. Would my abs leave grill marks if you cooked a rib eye on them?Mais non. Have a lost weight? No idea, I avoid the scale like a plague posey’d rat. But! But. Yesterday my stomach didn’t rub angrily against the waistband of my shorts. Today I looked in the mirror and wasn’t filled with contempt. I have energy. I wake up and work out and by 9am there it is, an accomplishment, as tangible as the ink marked in my journal, a reminder I can touch and say aloud “There it is.
