Photo of the week: Campbell University broke ground Wednesday on the new Tracey F. Smith Hall of Nursing & Health Sciences that will be located adjacent to the Leon Levine Hall of Medical Sciences on the Health Science Campus about a mile west of main campus. 

During the groundbreaking ceremony, President Jerry M. Wallace also announced that the Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree program will evolve into the Catherine W. Wood School of Nursing.

The nursing school is the second school that Campbell has announced it plans to start since the fall. In October, the Board of Trustees approved the School of Engineering.

Drone photo of Jim Perry Stadium taken Sunday, March 15, during the Campbell baseball team’s 8-6 win over Longwood to sweep its opening Big South series. 

With the win, the Camels extended their win streak to 14 games -- the second longest winning streak in school history. The 2012 team won 18 in a row on the way to a 23-3 start. This season's 17-2 start is a program best through 19 games.

Campbell University's African American Studies Club will premiere the 40-minute documentary "Black History at Campbell" Thursday, at 5:30 p.m., in Turner Auditorium. The film was made by Jordan Terrell, a senior in broadcasting communication studies. 

Above is a trailer of "Black History at Campbell."

Terrell doesn’t want to spoil the documentary, but he hopes that today’s students, faculty and staff who watch it will “learn a little more about the history of Campbell.

"I also hope others will go beyond their own normal social circles and speak to others and get to know them,” he added. “That’s one of the things making this documentary reminded me of: We’re all people, and we all have a story to share.”

Campbell Law School Dean J. Rich Leonard, after The National Jurist named Campbell Law School one of the top law schools in the country for practical training. One of 86 institutions nationally to make the list, Campbell Law received the highest rating of any North Carolina law school.
