here’s a stupid rushed christmas comic that isn’t very funny
but im gonna be serious here. jack probably read the entire bible (took a LOT of time) and by the time he finished revelations he was like 'what does this have to do with christmas??' and takes no inspiration from it. he doesn't know about the people who cry for 'the reason for the season' or about the preferred term 'happy holidays' because he only knows about christmas being in december, and not any of the others holidays that we recognize.
sorry I wasn't here to wish you all a merry christmas, i caught a cold and either watched star wars, played bs infinite, or slept. but im here now! at least on mobile.

barely an appropriate lie. the only way she could have found it was if she looked in one of his closets and found the trap door he built in the floor several years ago. he remembered it well. he put it there, along with a few other ‘royal’ objects, like his scepter and a tattered black robe. he was almost ashamed to look at it, so he didn’t.
items that fit so perfectly on him, that proved his status. nobody’s head could so neatly balance his crown but jack’s own skull, his robe so long it’d drag on the floor if anybody but him were to wear it - for he is that tall. to avoid the responsibility of ever having to wear them, he feigned their disappearances. with them brought dark and lonely memories. without them, jack felt free, without any RESPONSIBILITIES holding him down. the title of pumpkin king still sat on his head, but it was now a little less obvious.
times when people bowed to him were a thing of the past. when they sought his approval, walked several miles just for his opinion. his previous castle home was extravagant and large, signifying nobility, royalty. but since when was he a noble? he’s good at his job, so what? he loves his job no more than anyone in halloween town loves their own.
he knows, he’s such a drama king.

he wants to talk about it, but reluctance holds him back. genuinely opening up to sally is still a habit he needs to learn. his hands stay clasped in front of him, not finding any desire to touch or wear the secrets he’s hidden for so many years. like a child, he waits for her to begin the conversation, to ask him why he refuses to wear something designed for nobody else, for a job nobody else could ever replace.
