I remember taking these and feeling awful. I hated who I had become. But I was desperate trying to document every second of it. The things we were suddenly required to do at work was so crazy and out of this world. This particular shift we proned 6 patients total. In one night. It was absurd. Everybody was so sick. Our beds were full of sick, sick people. I don’t remember their names only their sad, swollen faces. Heck I barely remember taking these pictures. I’m already shaking as I try and make this ?random? post about it. It makes me sick to my stomach. I never ever want to go through the nightmare that was last fall/winter. Never had a been so close to giving up. I think these can describe some of lowest, darkest times that I had ever had to experience to date. I think if I have to smell in inside of an N-95 mask again I might actually throw up or pass out.

When the Zimbabwean government ordered internet service providers to shutter parts of the web in an effort to curb anti-government protests,

I’m only able to send this because I’ve got a VPN but yesterday even VPNS were blocked today if you don’t have a VPN you can’t read news or use WhatsApp or Facebook or any social media they’ve only put the Internet on to avoid human rights issues you have a huge audience gaud, an audience who should care.

Alright, let’s get this thing started...

Hi! My name’s Payden Taylor and I’m currently an aspiring music educator and composer from Arlington, TX. I’m a strong believer in the power of music and the idea that every genre of music–popular or classical, folk or academic, modern or ancient–can enrich every person’s life.

I’m just starting out in my professional career and I’m chasing a lot of big dreams. I want to write music that I’m proud to have published and played. I want to start a YouTube channel dedicated to making music history and music theory fun and accessible to a wide audience. I want to work with high school marching bands in arranging and putting together their contests shows. I have high hopes which I may never realize…

But I’ll never know unless I try. I want to start trying to make something happen for myself, and I figured one place to start would be to begin attempting to gain some traction–however small–as a composer and arranger.

Over the next few days, I’ll be posting clips of performances or (for a lot of the large ensemble stuff) exported Finale audio of pieces I’ve written or arranged. If you’re interested at all in the stuff you see and hear, please hit me up at “paydentaylormusic” @ gmail.com and I’d love to discuss purchasing sheet music or commissioning a piece.

I know I may end up being just another starving tumblr artist, but I’ve seen people here do amazing things. It blows my mind when some of the artists I follow open commissions and within a day they hit capacity. I daren’t say I’m at the quality or experience of those artists, heaven forbid, but I do feel like, of all the places to try and start in a manner like this, tumblr is the one which I feel safest.

So, to whoever sees this and whoever reads this far, please try to spread the word a little bit. I love writing music, and I would love to write some for you or for whoever you know in your life would be touched knowing they helped a little bit more music enter the world.
