Oh gosh I love your latest Isha sprite! How different is it to draw a Sprite compared to CG style art? Are there any particular tips or tricks?
Style-wise, drawing a sprite isn’t much different to drawing a CG, though it’s good to keep certain elements in mind.
All sprites face to the left. I didn’t realise this was the case until I put them all together for a height chart, but they all face left to varying degrees. Facing forward is reserved for characters with an unsettling vibe, like Nafizah, Valdemar, and Volta.
The poses aren’t very dynamic and tend to be something you could hold for a while without looking uncomfortable.
There’s a blue light coming from the bottom-left side along with a gentle blue overlay to create a cool gradient (Best seen here on Muriel’s arm)
Other things to take into account is whether you want to change the expression, outfit, and hairstyle. It’s best to draw a blank base and then draw the clothes/face on separate layers.
I'm rebloging this because of how helpful it is!
