i wanted to write up this little interaction guide for mayday since she’s not super well-known and i have some divergences from canon that are important to my portrayal. this also serves as a little quick info sheet to make interaction easier and to have a place to detail things that are or are not publicly known about may and spider-girl.

PLEASE NOTE THIS GUIDE IS FOR MY PRIMARY CANON: EARTH-982 ! this verse is set post-canon of the spectacular spider-girl. for reference for those who may be unaware, earth-982 ( marvel comics 2 ) is generally considered to be the future of or a possible future of earth-616. mc2 is quite dated at this point, but i have and will continue to world-build and modernize it for my blog's canon.

moving on though ! there are a few arcs within this verse to cover other points in time and those will be detailed in another post and linked here below. there is a separate guide coming for my secondary main canon (EARTH-616) and there will be another one for crossovers and / or other genres for those interested ! my primary canon is not restricted though, so if any interactions with non-comic / non-superhero based muses happen to work in this verse, i may still use it unless plotted otherwise.

may "mayday" parker is the daughter of peter parker and mary jane watson in a future where one more day never happened / was reversed. she is twenty - one years old and has been suiting up as the amazing spider - girl off and on since she was sixteen. [ view verse arcs here. ]

˗ˏˋ 🕸 ˎˊ˗ 　　𝗖𝗔𝗡𝗢𝗡 𝗗𝗜𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗚𝗘𝗡𝗖𝗘𝗦　:　very important !

may is a mutant, not a human mutate as she is in canon. she inherited her father's powers which have interfaced in a unique way with her x - gene to further evolve her abilities.

may is a lesbian. she was closeted through most of high school and was a victim of comphet. she is now out, proud and coming into her identity as a young butch lesbian.

may is a member of the young x - men, a team of younger generation x - men led by rachel summers ( @celestiallegacy ). however, she does still operate on a solo basis and is also a reserve member of a - next.

she was personally trained by her father, peter, in many aspects regarding her powers and was also allowed to train at the xavier institute for mutant education and outreach with the young x - men prior to officially joining them.

her identity is a secret and meticulously protected. it should be noted that spider-man's identity is also not publicly known.

no one outside of a select few know that spider-girl is the daughter of spider-man. the majority of public assumption is that she is a copycat or a hero inspired by the original spider-man.

she live streams fairly often on social media and allows people to book cameos from her.

she is a member of the x-men. while actually one of the young x-men, the team distinction is not necessarily important or widespread knowledge to the public or other hero teams outside of the x-men.

her relationship with the costumed hero x-man ( @celestiallegacy ) is known or at least assumed, as they are constantly seen together and x-man frequently shows up on her socials and streams.

she is the daughter of peter parker and international celebrity mary jane watson. she was never in the public eye as a child, but that has since changed in the last 4-5 years due to her usage of social media.

she was the star player on the midtown girls varsity basketball team.

she coaches youth basketball at the kurt wagner sports and recreation center, a mutant-inclusive rec center in nyc.

she volunteers at the st. andrews women's shelter and has done so since she was in high school.

she lives in an on-campus apartment at empire state university with rachel summers.

her birthday is on halloween, and there is always a huge party for it hosted by mary jane.

may is not out as a mutant. as a general rule, only x-men, peter parker and mary jane will know that may is a mutant and that she is also spidey. that said, if there is another reason your muse might know this information and we haven't already established that, just dm me and we can talk about it !

may and spidey are both generally easy to interact with ! they are both very social, approachable and often found in public places.

the lists below are not exhaustive, just some ideas / launching points !

anywhere on the empire state university campus

walking her orange tabby on a harness somewhere outdoors

at the sports and rec center or the women's shelter

fun and energetic places : skating rink, arcade, nightclubs, dave and buster's kinda shit, etc.

cafes, pizza joints, libraries, parks for quiet time.

( other mutants only ! ) at the xavier institute for mutant education and outreach.

occasionally found at her mom's fashion shows or the premiere of her movies.

out on patrol in the city, fighting someone, saving someone.

acting as security for xavier institute-sponsored / hosted pop-up events, mutant festivals, or any other happening with a high mutant presence.

attending other types of events such as pride parades, activist marches, etc. to show support, inspire hope, and act as a deterrent for bad behavior.

just generally hanging out in nyc for funsies.

at the xavier institute for mutant education and outreach ( for anyone visiting ! )

hanging around avengers tower or the baxter building on occasion.

arcs, as i'm referring to them here, are specifics points in time throughout a single verse on this blog. they're easy ways for me to categorize interactions, drabbles, headcanons, etc. into a particular era of may's life. it's also an easy way for me to use the details of a a specific canon but allow some flexibility in how it's used. for example, my time / dimension hopping arc or the going - back - in -time arc.

　𐔌 ! 𐦯    STATUS　:　selective, please discuss first.

spans the time from spider-girl (1998) through the spectacular spider-girl (2010). may is within her first two years of being spider-girl and navigating through the social perils of high school and the drama of being a teenage mutant superhero juggling multiple versions of herself.

　𐔌 ! 𐦯    STATUS　:　open to anyone.

covers most situations where may is timeline hopping to different dimensions. it lines up with her primary arc in terms of where she is in her life (adult, in college, etc.). mainly used for interactions with mcu / xmcu / other non-comic based superhero muses, but has a lot of other uses too !

　𐔌 ! 𐦯    STATUS　:　open to any earth-616 or dc equivalent muses. the only peter and mj i will interact with in this arc are pcrkerluck and inthesp0tlight !

in the aftermath of a brutal defeat as spider-girl, may’s confidence has taken the fatal blow. with her personal life already spiraling out of her control, she feels like a total failure. as a friend, as a student, as a partner, as a daughter ⸺ as a hero. determined to pick herself back up and become the woman she wants to be, may makes the decision to go back in time to see her father at his prime as the amazing spider-man. to learn from him how to juggle a normal life and be the greatest hero new york’s ever seen. her plan ? infiltrate empire state university as a student and break her way into her parents’ friend group.
