STAR ACES CLOBBERED MIGHTY HAWKS

The hot and sweltering dusty weather suddenly becomes hotter when the stronger and more elusive Star Aces team bombed and defeated Mighty Hawks through successive nerve-fuzzing serves that lead Mighty Hawks to their downfall in the hotly contested of the Volleyball tournament during the “Linggo ng MOSCAT” in the sultry morning of September 16, 2014 at 9:30.
In the first set, the game started by a series of booming serves when hard ball first server, Charmie Dablo, drew initial blood and made successive 9 points in volleying the ball with an extreme offense and defense against their opponent. It was then followed by successive strikes of spiker Raein Jeil Fernandez that earned 10 points for their team. Mighty Hawks showed a weak start which enabled the Star Aces to lead the game. The first set ended with blue team at the long end, 25-16.
At the second set, the weak start of the Mighty Hawks did not dampen their fighting spirit, thus became more alert and aggressive. Mighty Hawks Captain Ball, Sweet Pearl Corneta sank an equalizer with successive block and pleasing serves, earning their team, 4 points, to tie the score of their opponent. She played her strengths and showed her stamina to tie up the score in the last minute of the second set. It ended with the score, 25-21, with Mighty Hawks gaining the upper hand.
In the third set and final decision of the game, Star Aces, with combined efforts of the players, showed their utmost skill, prowess and strengthen their defense against their opponent. When Star Aces spiker, Juvy Gallana, made her amazing serves and scored 15 straight points to defend their team. Mighty Hawks made successive net balls, side out and with their defense weakening; they lost their strength and chance to clinch the crown.
Under the hot and sizzling temperature of the venue, Star Aces showed no loss of determination. When Wendy Naguho, bore the brunt and made successive booming serves that enabled the team to score 15 points. The game became more exciting when spectators gave their zealous cheers, surrounding the whole venue. At the final minute of the game, Star Aces made successful serves that enabled them to clinch the crown and carried their team to victory. The game ended with a final score of 25-10.
“Teamwork, rigid practice, and strong defense made us win the game,” said Captain Ball, Wendy Naguho.
