Jenny clearly lets Niko and Crystal rent pretty nice rooms at an extremely low rate. Like, literally, Crystal tries to pay her with that little jar of coins. She takes payment in cash, which a hypothetical abusive parent couldn't track, and she doesn't ask many questions about what they're doing there.
I have a headcanon that Jenny is essentially offering a safe house for runaway, presumably-queer teens that probably don't have a good relationship with their parents. Canonically, her father was a "raging narcissist" and an alcoholic (her words), and it would surprise me if he had been accepting. So maybe she's like created the space she once needed.
This is probably a really dumb headcanon, but I'm fond of it.

The first time I saw Jenny I got so excited SHE LOOKS SO COOL 🥴🥴 I'm 99% sure Jenny, nico, and others weren't in the comics but I'm so happy they were added. Y'all don't understand... I've been obsessed with this show before it even existed. I USED TO READ THE COMIC EVERYDAY in 7th grade. I'm so happy the fandom is slowly growing.
