Recruit 10 new weendy users and get a weendy quick-dry for free!

You can get a weendy quick dry by inviting your friends to try it out. If you’re among the first 100 to reach 10 recruited weendy users, we’ll send you an email and ask for your postal address and preferred size. So, here is how: 1. Download weendy from Apple App Store or Google Play (if you haven't already!) 2. Go to the main menu and click on Invite Friends to get started. Once you start to recruit the first friend, we will send you notifications on your weendy app showing you how many you’ve recruited so far.

Please note that for a friend to count, he or she needs to sign up on weendy with the same email address that you sent the invitation to. We realize that a lot of you invited a bunch of friends to join by simply telling them about weendy. We are truly grateful for this but we cannot keep track of these recruits for technical reasons. One way or the other, we hope you’ll help us spread the word about weendy! *The same user cannot receive more than one item. The weendy team

Hi folks, As most of you already know, weendy was an invitation-only app for quite a long time. We decided to go this way, as we wanted to build the best product for our community and didn't want to compromise this for growth. So, after a few months, we are finally live and available for everyone to download and register! weendy v2.3.3 for iPhone was released and is now available for Download on the Appstore

Performance on iOS6

Hi folks, Many of you running iOS6 on older iPhones (3GS or 4) might have noticed that when you put weendy on the background and then open it again after a couple of hours, it seems to be launching again. This has to do with iOS6 and the performance it has on older devices. Apple made some significant changes on the way their new software works, but this has a significant impact on older devices with less memory. So, every app you put in the background, is subject to be killed by the iOS in order to preserve memory for the running application. We have tried to overcome this problem in the upcoming release of weendy (v2.3.3) and also complaint to apple for this (so did many other famous apps) and waiting for them to release an update for that. New Feature: Photo Updates

Hello folks!

Last couple of weeks we were collecting your feedback on how we could make weendy more usable in the places we hang out. You know the deal: bad signal, lack of 3G and no time to waste on uploading. In order to make reporting easier, in the latest versions of weendy, you can choose between video or photo reports. The photo option could make the process 10 second shorter and upload times 5 times faster than before.

So, next time, check your signal, select what fits you best, and shoot!

On Android (>=1.3.0)

Step 1: Press the share button on the top right corner, as usual.

Step 2: Select either Photo or Video.

Step 3: And this is how Photo reports will look in the list (notice the missing play button).

On iPhone (>=2.3.2)

Step 1: Press the "weendy +" button on your top bar.

Step 2: Select either video or photo as you would with your normal camera app.

Step 3: This is how photo reports look in the report list (missing the play button).

New Feature: Venue Selection

Guys,

We all know that we love to give spot names that best describes them: “Devil’s Point”, “Chicken Bay”, “Secret Spot” are some common phrases for a spot. In order to support this, we decided to include a new feature on weendy, where you can select the spot name by a list of nearby venues. 

 Just select the venue name before uploading your report.

iOS6 support

Hi guys,

We are aware that in some devices (iPhone 4&4S) running iOS6, weendy has some issues on displaying the maps and the forecasts. This mainly has to do with the change from Google maps to Apple maps, but nobody is perfect :) Thanks to your feedback, we have eliminated this and have already submitted an updated version on the apple app store. Hopefully the new version will be available by the end of this week (October 5th), depending on apple's review process.

The new web features are now up on http://weendy.com! Just go to the top right menu on http://weendy.com and sign up to your account to watch your weendy profile, your past reports, people you are connected with and the promos you are currently participating.

You can also connect with new users/friends easier by searching their profile on the search box.

Friday Lycra: Be among the Top 10 Weekly Leaders with a Chance to WIN a weendy Lycra!

You may have noticed a new web feature we launched recently but haven’t officially announced: the Weekly Leaderboard! The aim is to use the Leaderboard as a way to reward the most active and dedicated users of weendy, with an emphasis on users that make reports. Here is how it works: The leaderboard will be updated daily, based on users' activity and the results will be aggregated every Friday. Weekly ranking will be based on a combination of quantity and quality of the reports made. Basically, the algorithm boils down to asking "How much a particular user is contributing and how valuable is his/her contribution". Here’s a screenshot of yesterday’s standings:

Update: What’s New

Good news! weendy iPhone v2.2.1 and weendy Android v1.2.4 are now available! Here’s what’s new: Find/Invite your friends EASILY! You can now find which of your Facebook/Contact List friends are already in weendy, and if they aren't, go invite them! And remember, the more friends you invite the more reports you get.

QUICK Sign up through Facebook. We want to make your life easier, since we all know that it takes time to fill your personal details after downloading an app. Now, all you have to do is to press the Facebook Log in button and connect your Facebook account with weendy.

Get notified when someone is following you. From now on, when someone starts following you, you'll get notified both with a push notification and a badge in your inbox messages.
