Not joking when I say there is something... healing(?) about the Devil May Cry games and its storytelling.

Yea it's stupid goofy 90% of the time but it's also so SINCERE. The cheesiest, most ridiculous thing could be happening but the whole time it's saying with full confidence, "Hey. this is awesome right? :) that slow mo was really cool right? :)"

DMC3 for example. Dante driving a motorcycle up a vertical tower and then upside down as the wall breaks off? Of course he can do that. He's Dante.

Yea this franchise has been memed to high heaven, but that's because it is just so goddamn over the top and genuine. Irony poisoning has been talked to death but it bares repeating just how annoying it is that every new piece of media has to be the first to get in on the joke like its embarrassed in itself and its not cute anymore!

hey, anyone else angry about s2 of devil may cry netflix anime? i know that lady and dante have sexual tension until the 3rd game, but ari making them romantic when the og creator specifically said that they see each other as siblings. it just sucks that they did this for no reason (at least in my eyes). cause what do you mean the aspect of vergil and dante's relationship isn't enough of a storyline that you feel the need to add an unnecessary romance. it just upsets me considering what i know of the game or at least these two's relationship.

Reboot rewrite stuff before I finish the game again so I dont forget like everything i wanna sayyy

I don’t want mundus to appear properly until the end of the game like dmc 1, he would never demean himself by taking on the human form, he is playing with his human dollies until the spawns of sparda grow up and start fucking with his shit.

We still get our titular ‘Mundus attacks the house kills Eva and separates the boys scene’ but shes an Angel now and not just a human woman I think it would be fun and funky if she DID make it to Vergil but was killed in front of him all angel holy light style, still leaving him to have to fight his way out of it while Dante gets put into the foster care system, forever separate from his brother who got put into the orphanage instead of dante(no losing his memories and getting adopted oh no no no I want a vengeful seven year old).

Dante still will have that night and the memories before it heavily repressed leaving him with an intense black sheep complex and the thought of ‘who am i really?’ Always in the back of his mind. Occasionally he will have nightmares to the night his mother died as well as other brief memories but they’re fuzzy and far between.

He still ends up in limbo city and games plot starts ‘business as usual’ (ill come back and more specifically flesh this out when I’m done playing)

Dantes characterization for me will be very ‘I get mean when im nervous like a bad dog’ foster system was not kind to him poor boy. Hes abrasive and rude if he feels uncomfortable or out of control . Hes still got his humor but its rougher and hes got more awareness of his corny one liners, i think itd be fun if he recognized particularly grimace worthy ones.

Vergil is now the ‘Herald of the order’ which is still an ‘organization’ with the goal of overthrowing(killing) mundus but its a bittt more cultish now, they’re more about the slow poisoning and breaking down Mundus from the roots than going on YouTube in anon masks and demanding the people of the world believe them 😭.

We wouldnt see as much of Verge either, hes the kingpin not a worker bee. I think a la Nelo angelo dante should only see Vergil’s face towards the end of the game or after defeating him (which fully unlocks his DT me thinks because then hed get his memories back in full)

I wanna give them propper devil trigger designs to my edgy half angel half demon boys.
