VANDER ALEXANDRA
Vander had been raised in a world of death and anomalies. From the moment she was born, she remembered the smell of industrial cities. Rust, blood, and oil dancing on her senses. She had a very disorganized and inconsistent upbringing, resulting in a lack of emotional connection to most of her family and herself. From a young age, Vander had quickly fallen into a path of violence, resorting to injuring herself and others to process emotions and experiences. She eventually found a thrill in violence. It brought her a sense of purpose and belonging that she had not previously felt before.
Vander was merciless, she did not care for innocence. As years passed, Vander became a notorious serial killer. She was well known across smaller wasteland communities as the “Bladeswallower”, a nickname she honed for her preference of impelling sharp objects into her victims’ throats. Vander had an immense curiosity about the saurian body and how much it could withstand, especially in a world where anomalies could twist them at the slightest touch.
Eventually, killing became mundane. It was the same thing over and over. That was until she met LYRA.

this is vander, i've talked about her quite a bit here and on my server, now you can put a face to the name! i hope to start expanding more upon the story/world of kuvorot, but for now i'm just trying to design the cast of characters before i get into more.
Vander is incredibly blunt and honest with her emotions. She isn’t one to sugarcoat how she feels about something, she prefers to be honest, no matter how brutal it is. More often than not, she doesn’t have much to express anyway, as she often keeps her emotions rather muted. Vander is far better at expressing her emotions towards others than her emotions about herself. She doesn’t quite know what to make of herself, but she doesn’t care much. What she does care about though is keeping up her intimidating appearance.
Vander is incredibly strict about maintaining her inhospitable appearance and behavior. Emotional expression was never something she had been quite familiar with due to her upbringing and learned ability to repress her emotions. It makes killing more fun for her though. Less to worry about, less to feel bad about. She likes that part about herself, strangely enough. Lyra fears that if she stops finding enjoyment in killing, then there’s no point to her life.

She followed her negligent mother, who worked at a soup pawn meat factory, around as she had gone from bachelor to bachelor. Many siblings she had before had perished from malnutrition.
From a young age, Vander had quickly fallen into a path of violence, resorting to injuring herself and others to process emotions and experiences. She eventually found a thrill in violence. It brought her a sense of purpose and belonging that she had not previously felt before.
Vander was merciless, she did not care for innocence. That was until her half-brother had been born. At first she had considered taking his life, sparing him from the life she had, but she instead chose to do something she had never done before. She would not let him die, not like the others. Their parents had been later killed by a rival group through forbidden devilry, causing Vander to have quite a disdain towards it and overall indifference to devilry. She never practiced it herself and the devilry that all saurians were born with had eventually faded from her. Vander could care less both about the devilry and her parents, she was more focused on her baby brother, as long as he lived, that was what mattered to her. She helped raise him as best she could, telling him all that she had learned from their family and the heinous world around them. He kept up as best he could with his sister. She had his best interest in mind, though he did not want to necessarily follow her path of bloodshed.
As years passed, Vander became a notorious serial killer. She was well known across smaller wasteland communities as the “Bladeswallower”, a nickname she honed for her preference of impelling sharp objects into her victims’ throats. Vander had an immense curiosity about the saurian body and how much it could withstand, especially in a world where anomalies could twist them at the slightest touch. Vander attempted to find ways to capture and harness anomalies to aid her in more creative means of murder, though these often resulted in the destruction of her own limbs and organs— hence her many stitches. Rather than using devilry, she mended her own wounds with the flesh of anomalies and hand-sewn stitches.
Vander often targets whomever she can get her claws on, whether that’s to steal resources or just because she’s bored. Vander, however, does not target families, teenagers, or children. She usually goes for lone stragglers or gang members. She’s thought about killing children and has killed one once out of curiosity (it was a sick, dying child), but she derived no pleasure from it. There is no pleasure in killing something that is innocent and cannot fight back. Vander enjoys killing more when her victims put up a fight.
Eventually, killing became mundane. It was the same thing over and over. So, she tried something else. Her brother had settled in a nearby community, opening a flower shop of his own. Vander decided to settle with him, maybe she could try this normal life. Her brother was more than happy to help cover up her violent acts, going as far as using Vander’s victims’ as fertilizer for his plants. Vander was appreciative of her brother, but day by day, she lost interest in death. And she yearned to find some thrill in it again.
Eventually, she did in Lyra.
