I'll admit, I only went to see this film in the cinema because of Halle Bailey and the discussion surrounding supporting Black filmmakers, and I had no clue what it was about aside from cute European romcom.
Y'all, go watch this film!!! It's so cute, so fun, so silly! Halle Bailey looks STUNNING in every single scene and I want her outfits so bad. Not just one beau but TWO hunks including the classic slow-mo shirtless rain scene (a romcom must), and every character was entertaining and their own person.
Halle's character is fed up with her city life and takes a chance on travelling to Tuscany and stays at the house of a man she met in New York, leading to his family assuming they're engaged. Comedy, cuteness, and cooking ensues. My only objective critique is that there's quite a bit of exposition told instead of shown, but it's not much different to a lot of media made nowadays that has been tailored to the second screen generation.
