Im gonna piss some of you off. But I need to talk about this because some of you genuinely infuriate me.
Vessel wants you to know he's hot. He wants you to look. He wants you to fantasize. That's why he wears all that jewelery, that's why he's shirtless 99% of the time, that's why he wears those fuckass satin pants that just let's his shlong swing and swag. That's why he acts the way he does on stage; kissing his band mates, holding his mic in sometimes very intentional ways, dancing and touching himself in ways that's are seductive in their own little weird way.
So why do I hear so many sleep token fans putting down other fans for "thirsting" over Vessel..? I hear this a lot of time when, you know, his dick is pulled into the conversation. People love to just immediately run to: "This is weird. Why are you talking about that." And I slightly agree. If this was anyone else, I'd straight up say yeah. That's weird.
But this is not just some average dude we are talking about. This is a dude who wears a mask and covers himself in black paint, is anonymous, and goes by the name of Vessel on stage. He, quite literally, does not want to be seen as a human. It is all in the name. It is all in the black paint. It is all in the mask. Because you can't see his face, he gives you his body. Can you associate a human with the word vessel? I can not.
I thought that Vessel was, in a nutshell, quite literally supposed to represent YOU. As in whatever the fuck you're dealing with and need to latch onto him, as in "vessel" for your pain and your emotions and your desires--basically whatever you want him to be.
So why do so many "fans" like to tear other fans down when they do talk about Vessel and his body, like he so obviously wants them to? Why are people so quick to say shit like "Oh you're a fucking weirdo, you're a fucking gooner." And what is up with sleep token fans replying to thrist comments saying "you're why Carmel exists"?? Why is it so appalling to these people that others have sexual desires and fantasies?
Am I in the wrong? Do I just have all of this wrong? I don't know. But I sure am tired of people saying that Vessel is way too sexualized and that people need to consider him as a human with feelings. Because I feel like he absolutely does not want to be seen as human, and I feel like he wants to give the people freedom to fantasize and talk.
I will take this with me to my grave: if Vessel actually had a problem with the way people look at him or talk about him, he would have said something about it a long time ago. He would have stopped dressing and acting the way he does on stage. Some of you guys are too damn sensitive, and you think you are "protecting" this little "smol bean" from the creepy fans. But in reality, all you are doing is taking away from his genuis.
