Ahahaha! I'm working on it, but I also love getting your input on these. Since you mentioned needing more ideas, I can share some more (if you're interested):

The incident involving Steb that I've alluded to a couple times already is him being attacked on his first day patrolling Zaun, due to being vastaya. He's late to report back, causing Maddie to worry and pleading with Vi to help her look for him, as she's never been in the undercity before. They find him bruised and battered, but alive enough to walk with them back to the base, and Caitlyn is forced to implement the first of many new rules: Patrol in pairs.

Caitlyn is forced to address her issues with trust and communication when a plan blows up in her face because she intentionally withheld various important details from the rest of her team, leading to a temporary mutiny as Vi finally comes to terms with the loss of her sister (yeah I forgot to mention Jinx's attack on Piltover leads to her demise and the strike team has to deal with Zaunites who are continuously inspired by her sacrifice)

A remix of season 1's family reunion, this time the whole strike team is abducted and tormented by people from Loris' past...

Take another Clean-up Crew AU Maddie headcanon!

Wine makes her uncomfortable. It's not because it's alcohol, she's fine with beer and liquor--don't tell Loris, but she's become a fan of jello shots ever since Vi put one in her hand--it's just wine. The fermented grape scent makes her stomach queasy, the colors swirling and sloshing make her eyes hurt, and the loud tinny *clink* of glass bottles clashing together make her legs weak.

She can't stop her mind from reverting back to that week-long trip, feeling her mother hoist her aboard a boxcar with nothing but her school bag and the clothes on her back. Watching the woman's face scrunch up in heartache from her little perch as the train lunched forward, carrying imported goods with a single passenger squeezed in between crates of Noxian wine. Glass hitting glass kept her awake at night, the incessant spinning of red and gold liquid made what little food she packed climb back up her throat, the taste when her water supply was long gone and her destination was still three days away...

Maddie never touched the stuff again.

Clean-up Crew AU Maddie headcanon to start off the new year:

Zaunites learn pretty quickly that Junior Officer Nolen is the worst choice for a hostage. Yeah, she's short and generally friendly--naive enough to lure into a trap if necessary--but she's also ruthless when given the chance.

She will dislocate her own thumbs to snake her hands out of cuffs, she will slip through shadows without a sound so she can nab a weapon to defend herself, she will utilize her impeccable leg strength to choke out a man on the ground, she will bite off fingers and she will rip out hair if it means she can get away and go back to work.

You can take the girl out of Noxus, but her heart beats to the drum of brutality.

And if she's present when an innocent kid is being held hostage instead? Good luck.

Clean-up Crew AU child!Maddie headcanon:

At six years old, she and her classmates were asked by their teacher to bring in all of their favorite toys or comfort items from home, and then instructed to destroy them. This was one of many lessons that was made to prepare them for potential military drafts by the Noxian government, toughening them up young and getting them ready to make personal sacrifices. Maddie willingly broke everything--toy cars and trucks, baby dolls, even ripped up her favorite storybook her mother read to her at night--except for a single stuffed bunny she received in the hospital when she was born. She couldn't bring herself to harm it. So, under their teacher's guidance, the other kids did it for her. They tore it limb from limb, flung it's cotton innards into the air like snow, and left the remains in a tattered heap at her feet. All she was able to salvage was a single arm, which she tucked away into her backpack. Months later, it accompanied her on a freight train to Piltover, wrapped closed with a piece of string to keep what little stuffing it had left inside. And to this day, her favorite memory is unwrapping a brand new teddy bear whose arm her grandmother lovingly replaced with her "lucky rabbits foot"

As for Vi, yes, she's going to be on the strike team with Maddie and be romantically involved with commander Kiramman (who still hasn't fully learned her lesson, I guess)

The way I'm imagining the base, it's going to be a formerly abandoned building that was freshly renovated JUST ENOUGH for them to survive in. They're in Zaun, so it's nothing fancy, but they've got a communal kitchen and bathroom, some bedrooms, and a balcony to brood on top of when the plot demands it.

Also, no need to apologize for asking questions because *I* almost apologized for sending you so many headcanons 😅

Caitlyn and Maddie Friendship(?) Headcanons:

It took a while for them to feel genuinely comfortable around each other after Cait broke off their situationship and got back with Vi. As hard as Maddie tried to act unaffected by it, she was crushed, and it took Caitlyn an embarrassingly long time to get it through her head that being intimate with your subordinate, then dumping said subordinate right as you move into a shared living space with her for work is a BAD IDEA. She's since taken accountability, and Maddie has forgiven her, but there's a lingering tension when the two are left alone.

Despite their past, Maddie's still eager to follow Caitlyn's orders, both on and off duty, like the people pleaser she is. What has changed, though, is that Cait appears more sensible with her authority now. She's become less stubborn about her plans, opting instead to arrange several backup strategies should the need arise, and more proactive when involved in interpersonal conflict with the team members. She's also finally learned to acknowledge her mistakes, which started with apologizing to Maddie for the way she handled their inappropriate workplace relationship (because that should NOT be swept under the rug, but it's such an uncomfortable and interesting situation to create a redemption arc from).

Caitlyn doesn't patrol often, as they have an odd number of people and need to move in pairs, but when she travels with Maddie, they. talk. books. She has to be extremely careful about sharing what she's recently read, however, because now she knows Maddie will look for the titles to read do they can discuss them together, and Cait CANNOT get caught liking smut again.

Somehow, someway, these two will always get sick at the same time. Food poisoning? Just them for whatever reason. A cold? They're sneezing in sync. Allergies? Maddie breathed in pollen right as Caitlyn drank from the dairy milk carton in the fridge without paying attention. When they're both under the weather, it's normal to find them sharing a bed with Vi acting as their reluctant nurse.

Slight side-note: Maddie's grandparents don't know about them being together (they would freak) but they suspect something's up. Her grandmother in particular doesn't trust Cait with her baby's heart like that, and is holding out hope that whatever crush Maddie might have on her will fade when she finds another lovely girl to be with.

Loris and Maddie Friendship Headcanons:

This man is the #1 Maddie Nolen Defender. She can literally do no wrong in his eyes. She could become a serial killer and he'd help her hide the bodies if she said "please". Maddie is well-aware of the power she holds, and she'll use it sparingly, usually to persuade him into taking better care of himself.

I've already mentioned these two are the team's designated undercover cops when suspects are too smart or sneaky. While Loris tends to default to a quiet, menacing muscle head that blends into the background, he'll listen to Maddie make up random stories or facts about his alias, and sometimes fall back on them if his cover is at risk.

Speaking of their undercover work, there have a handful of times in which Loris abandoned Caitlyn's orders to protect Maddie when she was in danger. The worst of these incidents included the suspect destroying her earpiece and tracker, leading Loris to search for her by punching through walls of several warehouses until he found her perched on the scaffolding with a crossbow she swiped from her captors. He's never felt more proud.

Loris is a completely different person when on patrol with Maddie. His eyes are bright, his laughter is loud, and he's as much of a chatterbox as she is. Most of their conversations revolve around gossip, like the time Vi chased a pervert over rooftops after she caught him stealing Caitlyn's underwear from the clothesline outside (btw they're together in the Clean-up Crew AU but are still navigating better communication). When their talks turn serious, however, he'll keep the details as vague as possible while venting, and he appreciates that she doesn't ask questions. Maddie, on the other hand, spills everything to him like a broken faucet, and even though he listens, he can't help but worry about how trusting she is.

Picky eater solidarity. Maddie's particular about textures and temperature, while Loris can't stand dishes with strong smells or flavors. He cooks the most often for the team, so he has full control over what his food will consist of, but he's willing to accommodate Maddie's own preferences, too. Yes, he owns a "Kiss The Cook" apron, what of it?

they're so special to me ☹️☹️ Literally the definition of grumpy x sunshine and I lowkey love them for it.

I wanna throw in that once when it was really cold, maddie shivering and all, Lori's gave his coat to her. Only issue is that it almost smothered maddie completely, big and heavy as it was. She looked comical, but she was warm. Loris caught a cold the next day though, but he'd do it again in a heartbeat for maddie.

I just think that Loris would be big and warm in general and Maddie does love to indulge in said warmth. Probably has snuggled up to him on the sofa or their bunks more than once, but loris will always deny it.

Unlike steb and maddie these two probably didn't face dating allegations, because Loris would slam anyone upside the head who'd even imply any indecency going on between them. That's her little sister and you're weird for thinking anything else. (He was probably also the one to shut down the rumors about ateb and maddie.)

I also think loris did NOT like it at all that cait and maddie had something going on. Maybe it reminded him of his own affiliation to Zaun?? Like he just doesn't want for her to get into anything that risks her job and that she can't get out of, because he knows from experience it'll all come back to haunt her

Clean-up Crew AU Facts because you got me SOOO excited:

Maddie totally uses her mechanical and medical skills in Zaun, they'll actually be the reason she was selected for the assignment. Back in Noxus, before the new law that drafted children as young as 3 into the military, she loved watching her late father's friends disassemble and reassemble their firearms to clean the parts. When she was sent to live in Piltover at the age of 7 (she got out just in time, thanks to her mother), her interest pivoted to helping her grandfather fix up appliances and vehicles in his garage for an allowance, and her grandmother, being a nurse, sparked a new passion for medicine years later.

Steb's race is going to play a factor in his daily life in Zaun. People in the undercity DESPISE vastaya, but he has to set that aside to serve the community like his job demands. He also can no longer patrol alone, after an incident on the team's first day there...

Loris' past is going to come back to haunt him in the story. He was born and raised in Piltover, but had a rebellious phase that led him to joining a gang down in Zaun. It was a double life for him, where he could escape the suffocating expectations at home and let out his frustration with friends. But, once he got in too deep, he just... stayed in Piltover. Until now, and he's in for a surprise when his old friends recognize him.

Steb and Maddie Friendship Headcanons:

They met while Maddie was still in the academy, and Steb was a freshly graduated rookie stuck on traffic duty. Someone's car broke down in the street, and as he approached the scene, he found Maddie already elbow-deep under the popped hood, feeling around the parts. He had no clue what she was talking about as she explained the issue to the driver, he was simply content to let her handle it as he redirected traffic around them.

Despite being just two years younger than him, Maddie looks up to Steb a lot. She's always impressed by his extensive knowledge on language (I see him as a polyglot, fluent in 6 languages), history, and marine biology. Before joining Caitlyn's team together, she was the only person in the department to make him feel like he belonged, and although he's still quiet while their alone, he's touched that she values his opinions so much.

Her respect for him doesn't stop her from calling him an old man when he cracks his back or acts confused about some new fad.

The first time he truly felt protective over Maddie was when he witnessed a drop in her blood sugar after arresting a wanted criminal. He stayed by her side, with the suspect handcuffed to the handrail of somebody's porch, until she stopped shaking and could stand by herself. It wasn’t until days later, when he spotted her vial of insulin, that he pieced together what happened to her, and while he never confronted Maddie about it, he started carrying around extra snacks on patrol to prevent seeing her like that again.

I think after Steb saw maddie fix that car, he'd ask her to fix things sround the area to further her abilities and not make her forget this talent.

Also I think that they have a relationship close to how a 2nd semester student adopts a 1st semester student. Not exactly a mentor-student thing but more of a 'I've done this before and can tell you this is a horrible idea' type. Saved Maddie from getting into trouble a time or two. I can also imagine maddie took the fall for steb when she was a newbie grouped with steb, because she knew there'd be lighter consequences.

At some point someone probably also started a rumor that they were dating (because God forbid a boy and a girl are friends) but that one disappeared before it could spread far for reasons unknown but possibly linked to violent actions. Now whenever a freshling claims to have thought the two were a couple, the more seasoned officers shut them up in a panic like an urban legend would be summoned upon those spoken words.

Also (unrelated to her relationship with steb) I think that maddie had to take steps in adjusting her own uniform to fit her because the smallest size still sat on her like a bag and there was no way she'd go out on the field not looking snatched. (Coming from someone who's seasoned in altering clothes to look more flattering 😼 I love projecting on her)

ALSO since you're the cleaup crew anon, i have two cents to give about this if youre willing!

Number one she uses those mechanics skills to help fix stuff up in Zaun. Probably not part of her job, at least in the eay she does it, but what is she supposed to do when some zaunite kid waddles up to her, broken toy thing in hand. Not her usual area of expertise, hyt she's never going to leave a little one hanging! From there it just spirals and they give her a whimsical title.

AND I think when she was first moved to her grandparents in piltover was when she first developed a hand in fixing things. She used to tinker with stuff back in noxus too, but probably ended up having to make a living from it when she was moved to piltover, so she could support her grandparents. When she was younger it was just little jobs like helping someone fix a hole in their bike tire for a few bucks.

I don't think her grandparents forced her to do it though, she just went on afternoon walks and came back home with dirt smudged across her face, a bit of money in her pocket and a proud grin as she presented it to her grandparents. They made sure to buy her something special from the extra money, even if it was just a scoop of ice cream.

Vi and Maddie Friendship Headcanons:

There's no malice between them, but they're envious of each other. Maddie can never bulk up the way Vi has or look nearly as intimidating, and Vi wishes she could get along with people as easily as Maddie makes it seem for herself.

The two became Bros after the tension surrounding their time with Caitlyn boiled over into a fist fight in a back alley. Neither would share with anyone what their conversation was like after the two sat down on the curb, bloody and bruised, but it was obvious to the rest of the team that they grew closer.

Vi has compared Maddie to Powder on more than one occasion while blackout drunk, only to forget the next day while nursing a hangover. Maddie keeps these personal moments to herself, just like Vi does for the rare instances Maddie has shared what little she remembers from her childhood in Noxus (and Vi still doesn't have the heart to point out when something Maddie is thinking back fondly on sounds disturbing).

Petty bickering with the most ridiculous arguments ever. From Vi constantly mispronouncing the name of an actress Maddie's obsessed with, to Maddie insisting Vi's height is "below average", to the both of them yelling about whether cats or dogs are better.

As a continuation to #4, they've spent enough time together to cross a few lines when arguing, and pick up on what would be a sore subject to talk about. Maddie learned to hard way never to bring up Vi's time in Stillwater Prison, regardless of how innocent the question might be, or the many loved ones she's lost unless Vi starts that conversation. Likewise, Vi avoids discussing her and Caitlyn's relationship--mostly out of respect, as Maddie had attempted to act unbothered in the past--and teasing Maddie for her closeness with her grandparents in Piltover.

Vi caught on pretty quickly that Maddie's gullible. Like, REALLY gullible. Thus, she did what older siblings do best and exploited it to her heart's content.

Im always torn between having Maddie be the second chance at treating a little sister well, or embracing MadVi. I honestly loveee the idea of both (in separate writing ofc) way too much!!

For the sibling route we should also bring in jinx, seeing Vi playfully banter with Maddie and going easy on her even if she messes up. Oh that has her blood boiling, alright! Because that should be her, not some stupid ginger enforcer. SOSO MANY UNEXPLORED DYNAMICS FOR THIS UGH!!

Finally confident to share the AU idea I've had for a long while. So far, I'm calling it the "Clean Up Crew AU", where Caitlyn's strike team is formed with the purpose of helping Zaun rather than hunting Jinx, and they've been relocated to a base on the edge of the undercity for this long-term assignment.

It starts as a half-assed compromise from Piltover to give Zaun the barest of resources in order to avoid further violence, with Maddie being a genuine ray of sunshine after narrowly avoiding the Noxian spy route in her childhood. I gave her grandparents she was sent to live with in Piltover when Noxus was recruiting children into their military, and I have to keep reminding myself that they aren't canon because I love them so much.

I'm honestly really into this idea, wow!! Will you be writing this somewhere maybe? 😼 I'd totally be interested and I can imagine a few other people are too! I will def encourage you to write this, if you aren't already. Keep it private or not, up to you but PPPLEASE make it exist!! More headcanons for Maddie Nation while you take a well-deserved break! (FYI these can be applied to both canon spy Maddie and non-spy AU Maddie, because I like when she's a genuine enforcer not working for Noxus)

Along with mechanical knowledge, she's quite skilled in medicine beyond the basic first aid training every enforcer receives. The fact that her blood type is O+ makes her even more useful in emergencies that require blood transfusions while patrolling Zaun with zero access to a hospital. Her abilities to repair both machines and people alike have earned her the title "Piltover’s Fix-It Girl".

She's insecure about her appearance when she's mistaken for a kid. Being 5'1 and excitable makes it easy for others to call her childish. She does, however, use it to her advantage when Vi gets angry with her. It reached a point where Vi would send Caitlyn to Maddie as a messenger do she can't be disarmed by puppy-dog eyes.

Her rule-follower attitude extends to the kitchen. She needs a recipe if she's making something more complex than scrambled eggs, and a timer because otherwise she WILL get distracted and something WILL catch on fire.

Both she and Loris are designated undercover agents when the teams needs to keep an eye on someone before making arrests. While Loris tends to blend in with the crowd, Maddie dresses up to get the suspects' attention. A wig, make-up, and clothes that show off her curves, she's unrecognizable when she's undercover. She's also good at improvising, but on the rare chance something goes awry, Loris won't hesitate to blow both of their covers if he believes her safety is already compromised, and he's not afraid to defend his decision if Caitlyn reprimands him for going off-script.

Somewhat of a continuation to #4, Maddie is a surprisingly good dancer. If she's undercover at a club, her main method of diverting attention to herself is to hit the dancefloor, grab a random partner, and blow them away with her footwork.

The idea of a mechanic maddie is GNNNAWING at me. Put her in those stupid overalls and cover her with grease and oil it's not even funny anymore!! Suddenly my car needs desperate fixing and I'm just a stupid thing that has no clue what a tire even is 😋

The puppydog eyes are her biggest weapon tbf. MadCaitVi but Cait and Vi constantly get into "you did WHAT?!" arguments because the second maddie uses those eyes... Cait is a little stronger but Vi is WEAK!! It gets even worse when Maddie shows Vi how to use those pretty eyes too. Caitlyn is a victim man...

Also i fully FULLY believe Maddie sometimes takes her undercover mission too serious and has gotten a number or two from the unsuspecting people she used as part of her cover. Too charming for her own good I tell ya! Although when someone get's too touchy for the comfort of the mission, you best bet Loris is over there in the blink of an eye. That actually reminds me of that tiktok trend a while ago where women were like "apparently men can't tell what we say wih our eyes". And like imagine Maddie flirting with you for a cover up and things are going super, so she shoots Loris a glance like 'she's cute!' but Loris totally gets it mixed up and almost slams you into next tuesday. Maybe maddie has to take you on a date to make up for that...

Not quite headcanons, but a list of instances in which protective brothers Loris and Steb looked out for Maddie:

Shortly after Caitlyn broke things off with her to reunite with Vi, word got around the department of Maddie's role as a rebound, and it caused as much unwanted attention directed at her as it did criticism towards Cait for her behavior. Loris and Steb refused to leave her unaccompanied by at least one of them after a fellow officer tried to get handsy with her. Coincidentally, that officer mysteriously disappeared the following day...

Steb carries backup snacks for Maddie's blood sugar in case she either forgets to pack one herself or gives it to a hungry kid on the street. He hasn't stopped scolding her for giving them away when she could need them, but it has yet to make her stop.

He didn't even realize it until Caitlyn pointed it out to him, but Loris used to step in between Maddie and whomever looked at her wrong during patrols. He started hanging back when he witnessed her incapacitate a drunkard twice her size.

The one time Maddie was injured on the job to the point of losing consciousness, neither of them let her out of their sight until medical help arrived. Later on, Vi confided in them about how much their relationship with Maddie reminded her of the siblings she lost. The three of them grew a little bit closer after she said that.

Oh my god yes!!! 🤭

I wanna add onto the last one, since Loris and Vi had a little arc together. I think Loris kind of wanted to comfort Vi about a lot of things and they realised how similar they really are, but Vi ended up pushing Loris away cause she didn't want to get hurt once again and she kinda knew that, when it came down to it, he'd choose Maddie and Steb over her, despite everything. Maybe also a bit mad about the fact that he defended Maddie when she had the thing with Caitlyn going on. So I do think the group, in one way or another, wanted to invite Vi in, but she just felt off in their already pre-established dynamic. Don't think it's because she hates Maddie though, but because if she tilts her head the right way she kinda looks like young Powder, always trying to do what's right even when faced with horrible conditions, kind but a little clumsy with it. Worst of all: Maddie is getting the protection that Vi couldn't offer for Powder and she loathes it.

Now that I'm thinking about it, I might see some more parallels between Powder/Jinx and Maddie, especially looking at their authorative figures and how they sculpted their beliefs

More Maddie headcanons that I hope will serve as a good pick-me-up!

She's a tinkerer. No, she's not ambitious or patient enough to build something completely from scratch, but your girl is great with tools nonetheless. If you have a broken music box, a leaky faucet, or a suspicious rattling in the hood of your car, give her a call.

A picky eater. A very, very, very picky eater. Nothing should be touching on her plate, she can't have any sauces like gravy or pesto, and don't even get her started on the temperature. Hot food needs a hot drink, cold food needs a cold drink, she will argue with Vi about this any day of the week.

She has a soft spot for animals, especially dogs. One of the pouches in her uniform, she reserves for dog treats to hand out on patrols. On her days off, she likes to drop birdseed on her walks through the park near her home.

While Loris is very protective of her, she's equally supportive of him and his softer side when they're alone. She's even encouraged him to get back into poetry, with the promise of keeping it secret (he has a reputation to maintain). One time, another officer caught her with one of Loris' poems, and she shoved the crumpled ball of paper into her mouth out of panic. He still won't let her live it down.

A total light-weight with alcohol and super clingy when she's drunk. The rest of the team learned the hard way that Maddie can't be left alone after just 2 drinks, when she wandered off and Steb found her about to go home with a total stranger because "she said she has a puppy". Ever since, Steb has been given the honor of babysitting the team when they go out to celebrate, since he doesn't drink anyway, and will more often than not lead Maddie around by the hand so she can't disappear.

The picky eater thing is soso true and i can totally imagine that the food the enforcers get was like not the best (We all know Piltover could afford to feed them lobsters...) so whenever she gets the chance to cook at home, best believe she's going ALL OUT! Honestly can also see how on a first date, maybe Reader cooked for her and she didn't know about those specifics but Maddie soldiered through it and only mentioned it YEEEARS later, her finding it funny but Reader being mortified that she was basically putting Maddie through torture on their first dates.

Maddie catches Pigeons to de-string their feet. There. I said it. I'm a huge bird lover and I know my people when I see them!! If there is some, she'd probably volunteer at a shelter, although that's a huge risk since she just wants to bring home EVERY ANIMAL EVER. Has totally gotten in trouble for keeping a stray in the Quarters provided for Enforcers. If you have a pet, I'm sorry. She's not coming over for you...

Totally also tried to give that Salivad-on paper back to Loris before realising that that's sort of gross, so she's kept it and probably put it up on her wall (true to the agenda that she sticks photos and memoribilia on her walls. She also buys Prints at COnventions or online artist shops to put up btw. Makes the Quarters a little more homely!!)

I think through some of the fics were I've written her drunk it's super obvious I agree. But I can totally also imagine her as a runner, although not really running but just walking away. I know someone who, when drunk, just starts walking home no matter from where and with such determination you'd think they're marching into a war zone. I could imagine that, but also that she just stops to look at things outside. God forbid there's a dog or cat at the function. She's on the floor, clinging to it, sobbing that she loves it so so much and just wants to take it home with her. Getting her to leave after that is like trying to get a kid out of the toystore...

Another headcanon for Maddie Nation while you keep up the good work in school!

Yes, she is a goody two-shoes who will follow protocol to a T because she puts so much faith in her superiors' orders. But when she's in a situation that doesn't have a protocol? When she's on-duty facing a dilemma with no time to ask Caitlyn or another higher-up for direct orders? When she's left to her own devices after being separated from the rest of her team on a mission? Maddie Nolen is a BEAST.

She'll take hostages, she'll cause property damage, she'll perform surgery on herself with a fish hook and loose threads from her own uniform, anything if it brings her closer to getting the job done.

I agree I agree I agree!!! Totally can see her just "black out" under stress, totally just finishing whatever and whoever is in her way of her goal. Afterwards others come up to her, asking how she figured out what to do and she can still give an almost detailed description of her exact thought process, but that process was never a conscious decision. Something just activates in her brain that makes her able to solve anything for the price of getting to untense at once. People might thing she's suited for a leading position because of her quick problem solving, but the second she's not alone all those skills just vanish. It's a survival instinct. Possibly even feels bad for what she did while battling to survive, cause it might hit people that weren't even involved in any way.

Based on that I'd also like to toss in that when things get tough, she will shed off anyone close to her so she can get through it. Not because she's selfish but because the whole "everyone fights for themselves" is just so deeply engrained into her that she can't figure out how to help everyone on her own or let them help her for that matter. Maybe a toxic trait, or maybe something you can slowly start working with her on 👀

Some Maddie Nolen headcanons as a treat while you catch up in Uni!

She sleeps in a ball. No matter if she's alone in a king sized bed, cuddling a partner, or squeezed in between two other people, Maddie will curl up like a puppy with her legs tucked to her chest.

Along with being the shortest, she's also the youngest member on Caitlyn's strike team--at 20 years old--and while the teasing can get on her nerves at times, she secretly likes how everyone looks out for her. Loris especially makes her feel safe.

She hates needles. I'm also the anon who headcanons her as a type 1 diabetic, and I want to add that she hates injecting insulin to the point of gagging when she accidentally looks down.

Before meeting Caitlyn, she only ever had crushes on celebrities. Most of them are actresses, and Maddie can still infodump about them like a walking biography, including all of the roles they played in chronological order.

Her father died before she was born, something that she confided in Vi about after the latter shared how she and her sister lost their parents. A part of her envies Vi for getting the chance to know her father for a few years, but she'd never say it out loud.

I'm also really happy to kinda get the needle thing right in my diabetic headcanons. I would also like to add that when she has to get a bloodtest at the doctors (daibetically related or not) she will literally crush every finger in your hand that she's holding because she's sqeueezing it so hard, trying not to look at the needle in her arm or the vial full of blood. Don't even get me started on trying to get her to the appointment in the first place, like trying to give a cat a bath.

For the second one, as the shortest person in pretty muche every room that has people my age group, that part is also very real!!! I do think that when someone gets too overbearing, trying to take over for her just because she's younger/shorter, she can get really mad and will insist on doing it alone to prove everyone wrong. If someone tries to take over a task that she doesn't want to do anyways though, then she's suddenly sooo weak and fragile and needs everyones help 🙂‍↕️

The 5th one is also totally good grounds for some bonding between the two or well anti-bonding in this case. I also think it works nicely because apparently one of maddies tasks was to look over Caitlyns father, if I remember correctly? I totally need Caitlyns father to treat Maddie like his own daughter even though she feels guilty into giving into that comfort since she's supposed to remain proffessional 😭

Hiii I've been in a rut with my own fics lately, and figured I can share one of my ideas with you as a fellow Maddie fan!

I headcanon her as having type 1 diabetes, so one of my stories has her faint from a blood sugar spike while on patrol with another member of the strike team. You don't have to write it, of course, but I thought you'd like to hear a HC of our girl!

I don't think I'll write a whole thing on this, cause I'd much rather read yours 😼 If you're willing to drop a username/link/whatever, please do!! I can also keep it to myself, if you don't want me sharing it on this blog. Here's some thoughts though: I only had a short read into diabetes, so I'm sorry if anythings inaccurate.

The team absolutely gets briefed on what they should do in case Maddie loses consciousness or another medical emergency arises.

Maddies uniform has these silly little pouches at the front in some scenes, which is probably be meant to hold ammo or whatever else. However, she occupies one with a her monitor and a few little treats, just in case. (Sidenote: Actually I don't think I've seen these pouches on any other enforcer? What is she hiding in there🤨)

A scenario I could also very much imagine is that due to nerves and whatnot, Maddie would almost forget about her diabetes when her and reader went on their first date, causing her to pass out. Reader is pretty stunned, since Maddie hadn't mentioned any medical conditions in the short time you had talked until then. Luckily Maddie turned out fine and the next day Reader practically studied every source she could find on diabetes. Reader is well prepared now and always really proud of themselves when noticing early on when Maddies bloodsugar starts getting funky.

Maddie and a Diabetic Alert Dog?? She feels a bit silly about it at first, having to rely on an animal to live a little more carefree, but she trusts the dog entirely. Defintley dyes it's tail a funky color so nobody takes this beloved helper from her and she can spot it from afar. Also let's you pick a patch or two for the dogs vest. The team also loves the puppy, but very much respects that it's a working dog. She takes it on patrol, but not usually on missions, since the surroundings are just too hectic.

Asks you to help her with the infusion set of her pump or ask you to administer her injections. I can imagine that, despite having been doing this for years by now, she still hates the needles. Having you do them takes her mind off it a little though. She also makes you give her kisses to 'make it feel better' (yes, kisses on the mouth also help, it transcends through the body to where the ache is. That's how that works, just trust her!!)

I also learned that diabetes impacts intimacy? So I think you'd have to do a little bit of figuring that out and even consulting doctors per your wish, since you were afraid of accidently knocking Maddie out (lmao) or otherwise causing her hurt or discomfort.
