After-thoughts
At the beginning, I found this challenge not too hard, as my body was just beginning to get familiar with the food that i'd be eating for the week. As it progressed, I found that I wasn't feeling healthy and my energy was beginning to decrease. There was a certain point where I extremely desired to give in to my temptations, but I decided against it, as I only had 2 days left for the challenge. Overall, I've learned that this challenge forces you to think outside the box a little, and tests your creativity. Without creativity, I'd be bored of my food and would have probably given up sooner. This challenge was also a lesson on budgeting, and how important it is to gauge a situation and plan your spending accordingly rather than blowing half of your budget on luxuries. Above all, this challenge has given me insight as to the situation many of the citizens of the lower mainland experience, and it has taught me to be significantly more appreciative of what i have. $26 may be enough to feed one person who has access to kitchen appliances, but those who do live on welfare may not have the same opportunities. I really do strongly believe that as the prices of food and living rise, the amount of money distributed should rise as well. The best part is that I have experienced some what of a similar situation, so I can sympathize with the less fortunate. All I can really say is, what an experience!
