Just finished this one and somehow completely didn’t realize it was a Hamlet retelling the whole time 😂 even though characters names were Trudy and Claude, and I’m pretty sure he drops quite a few Hamlet lines throughout the text (that I knew sounded familiar and figured were literary allusions but just couldn’t pinpoint). January was a really great reading month! I read 10 books, 5 pictures here and 5 from the library (that I had to return) or on my kindle. My favorites by far were “Educated” and “The Priory of the Orange Tree” - both 5 stars. What was your favorite read of January?? http://bit.ly/2TnrTlX

I knew I’d enjoy “Educated” by Tara Westover, but I didn’t realize I’d love it THIS much. I’m sad that I’m getting near to the end, which is the sign of a truly amazing book. Have you read it? Good morning! I’m really enjoying my current read, Anne Tyler’s “A Patchwork Planet.” This is my 13th novel by her and I just love her characters and storytelling so much. They’re so familiar and comforting, like meeting up with old friends and having a chat. If you haven’t read anything by Anne Tyler before I’d suggest you change that in 2019 :) http://bit.ly/2Fsc5u2

I love reading & writing poetry, but I don’t do it enough. So I’m pushing myself to do both more in 2019. Today has been weird and difficult. Going back to work after 12 days off and being in a totally new office has been a rough adjustment. Lots of anxiety and minor panic attacks throughout the day but I made it and I will continue to make it, one day at a time. One bright spot was bringing the little plants my family got me for Christmas to my desk. I also brought my current read in the hopes of sneaking some reading time in on my lunch break, but there was too much going on in my head for that today. This year I do want to be more intentional about getting out and taking breaks from my desk throughout the day, so bringing my book to work will hopefully remind me to practice that. http://bit.ly/2LLil1c
