Mini Still life practice in oil.
Some sketches done during my days off.
Oil on plywood. Dog in the balcony
An eye study in pencil. It’s all about the right eye!
The shop is now open. Oil on board
Working in progress of my next oil painting
A self portrait of myself and my girlfriend plus a cast drawing of Canova's statue. Framed they look even better.
Gesture drawing today!
A blast from the past!
Drawing of Damoxenos of Syracuse inspired by the statue made by Antonio Canova in 1794. Willow charcoal on paper 41.5 x 27.5
In process of varnishing 14 artworks. Varnish dries really fast so always use gloves if you don't want glossy hands ;)
I came back home from work with the intention of painting the first thing that comes in my head. Oil on plywood.
Portrait from imagination of a young girl from the 1700s. This piece of plywood was quite rough. In order to work on it I dusted it with an old brush, I sanded the edges, I applied 6 coats of gesso and once dried I sanded the surface.
I find plywood from scrap yard handy for practicing painting, it also takes the fear of wasting a precious canvass out of the equation. (16.5cmx 17 cm). The subject was inspired by reading a history book about the Etruscan civilization.
My very first still life in oil. Lessons learned: stop the tentation to work on details from the beginning - respect values - make sure your still life is on eye level not below or above - as beginner start with a single object composition max two items.
Pencil on A5 paper.
Her nieces asked for sweetcorn and so she went to pick some for them- (Ilha Santana de Madeira). Watercolour 25x17.5 cm.
