What's a book written by a woman that changed your life or that you consider a classic? Any genre, any language.
Happy 65th Birthday Philip Quast!
The beginning comes from the overture of The Sound of Music because his voice is music
Itâs a Play School waltz because he cAnâT dAncE and yet Play School is the one place he danced around
The Tiger because this is the year of the Tiger
Wiggerly Woo because he always does it
Inserted random and inappropriately used French sixth chords because his greatgrandfather is a ~Philippe~ so obviously thereâs European blood down the line somewhere
Not all of these things were intentional
i have blogged about the kuchiki byakuya-beethoven connection before (both c minor guys) but i have just realized another thing. byakuya's other song? that he sings with his zanpakutou, his soul? is in e minor. and beethoven's thing? was transposing a 3rd up.

âThank you,â Byakuya said, face blank as he received her offering. He set it on table between them and looked down into it.
Rukia resisted the urge to squirm.
Byakuya pulled out the first object. He stared at it.
âThis isâŠsome sort of contraption?â
âItâs a stapler,â Rukia said eagerly.
Five (plus one) gifts Byakuya receives on his birthday. Set about 7 months after the events of TYBW.

i don't know how to actually talk about music but i usually associate the secondary theme of beethoven's appassionata/sonata op. 57 with triumph and reprieve from the darkness of the first theme, but the way that kissin plays it under tempo (in his beethoven live album at least) makes it sound heartbreaking. like something in it is somehow sadder than the main theme. kinda like how that (last???? iirc) shostakovich's fifth symphony is a parody of triumph and greatness but it's supposed to be slow and unrelenting and i hrhrhrgrgrgb
At the end of Stars, the music modulates to G just before "Lord, let me find him." At the end of Javert's Soliloquy, when the Stars theme reprises, it is played in D, the dominant (fifth degree in a scale) of G. In a piece of music, dominant chords often leave a sense of "instability", making the listeners want a resolution to the original tonic (the primary chord). In this essay I will
Heard this stupid dad joke that killed me: Which Chinese word takes the longest to write? "Friend" (æć) because it takes two months just to write half of it
Which character is faster, hot (ç) or cold (ć·)? Obviously hot, which has 4 legs to cold's 1
Why do Chinese vampires hate spicy food? They only drink äžèŸŁç
