Happy anniversary to Patti Smith's Horses! Released November 10, 1975

Are you totally satisfied with Grace?
"Oh, no, far from it. I'm sure I can do much better...You see, and this is the problem of the first albums, we never take enough risks...For me, the typical example of the first album perfectly successful is 'Horses' from Patti Smith. John Cale's production is fantastic. The sound of 'Grace' is too polite, too wise."-Best magazine, November, 1994

"When we were shooting the series of shots that produced the cover image, I remember that the Horses CD was playing. It was funny because both of us had brought that album to the shoot that day. While shooting, he was intermittently listening to Patti Smith, doing a stand up routine that had a bit of a Lenny Bruce flavor to it, and copping a series of poses while he was eating a banana. With the banana, the jacket, and looking like a cross between Leonard Cohen, Judy Garland, with a pinch of Sid Vicious thrown in for laughs, it was the highlight of the day."-from So Real

"I wasn't even interested in the shot Jeff chose for the cover. Jeff saw it saw it on a contact sheet and said, 'That's it. That's the cover. I can tell I am listening to music in this shot.' The music he was listening to was Patti Smith's Horses album."-Rolling Stone Australia, September, 2015

Here is an unearthed music video for Je N'en Connais Pas La Fin performed by Jeff Buckley. This previously unseen video has just been uploaded to YouTube and I am absolutely amazed! The uploader, Jory Hull, has included this short description after finding it in storage,
"..from '94 or thereabouts, featuring a small cast of characters and a few moments of Mr. Buckley himself, all shot around the East Village. Probably made around the initial release of the "Live at Sin-é" EP. Created and directed by Tomas Baltazari. If anyone out there has seen this before, I'd love to know more!"
