Final project scaffold
A portrait is a moment of emotion or fact and has a self-styled point of view. - Richard Avedon
Who: I want to take a picture of my friend (Rainy). Her career as an overseas student reveals a regular, fun, and life-loving lifestyle. She also represents this group. In this day and age, many students' lives are regular and systematic. They often switch back and forth between several familiar places every day, losing their own shadow, and will feel tired, bored, and busy. But, in the concept of this work, I mostly wanted peers to slow down and use portraits to record what a student might do in a day, the choices they make about life, and the way they present themselves. Find fun in the seemingly boring life, and record it, encourage to love life while working and studying. Capture different moments of the day, relax and enjoy life, and piece together three scene story concepts of the "day" while reflecting on this phenomenon.
How: I hope to highlight the positive effects as well as the feedback concepts, which I think can create a sense of calm, simplicity, and authenticity in the portraits I take. By capturing different moments, activities, etc., you feel the meaning of each environment and demonstrate the importance of loving life without being tied down by the demands of work and study. Encourage students to take time out of their day to reflect and relax, to calm down and feel their own emotions and facts, and to love their own life.
Where: I have composed my series of works of three typical indoor life scenes, home, workplace, and leisure place, which will be three different indoor scenes.
Family, work, and leisure are the places where people are most relaxed, most familiar, and most revealing of their true selves, and where people spend a lot of time.
Work scenario: Study/work in the study room
Home: The hall to rest and escape the hustle and bustle
Leisure scene: Cafe for relaxation and entertainment
Method: I will try color, black and white and different lighting to shoot my portrait works, and I think the black and white color will be more suitable for the theme. I wanted to use black and white portraits to highlight the detail of the person through shadows and highlights. Without the interference of color, observers can pay more attention to facial expressions.
I want a more simple and more pure texture of the picture and more profound emotion and expression of the characters. By removing color, the emotional state and inner world of the characters become more prominent, breaking through the limitations of time, and the picture will highlight a sense of eternal existence and highlight the concept of the theme.
