“World domination is not nearly as important as lunch. The effort to reward factor is much higher with sandwiches as well.”

“See man, ya say that like I’m gonna be complaining about that or something.” Mars chuckles lightly and flashes a brighter smile, “I think just maybe I’ll be able to survive that~!” 

He grinned. “Brilliant,” he said. He sipped his drink.

“Honestly, I could probably stand to make a few of those, actually. I haven’t really been here long enough to make many solid ones yet, but I’m hoping to. I’m glad you have!” 

“You realize now that I’m gonna do everything in my power to be your friend, right?” he asked, a grin on his face.

Marlon chuckles lightly, and flashes a light grin of his own, before he takes another drink. “Yeah, exactly. Isn’t the kinda thing to force, and I wasn’t purposefully looking. So it’s all good! Ya got that right too.” 

“That’s good. Friends are better than dates half the time anyway. And I’m certainly making those. You?”

Marlon gave a broad shrug of his own, and instead of heaving another sigh, chooses to take a healthy drink from his own bottle. Chuckles lightly, “Well hey, I’ve got that much anyway, eh?” He jokes lightly, just to give an equal nod. “Eh, it’s the thought that counts, man. I’m not exactly in a rush anyway,”

He grinned. “Good on you, then,” he said. “Who needs a date, anyway? I think they tend to find you better when you aren’t looking.”

Marlon huffs a chuckle and shakes his head, “No, no, I suppose not. It’s just disappointing. We were definitely getting there,felt like it. I mean, obviously, I’ve only been here a few weeks. It’s not like I knew him crazy well. But we really seemed to kinda balance eachother out, I thought he really liked me. But evidently not, had shit respect for me if he somehow forgot to mention that he was leaving. Oh well. Read him wrong, obviously. Dick.” 

“Enh,” he shrugged. “You’re an attractive guy. You’ll probably find someone else. I know that that might not be helpful right now. But I suck at advice.” He gave a grin before sipping whiskey.

Really, Marlon had only really taken the glass to at least try and be polite. It felt a little goofy with Rafe now sipping from his own bottle. So he gives an amused shake of his head, and sets the glass back down. Just to drop down to sit himself. Leans back and gives an equal nod, “Yeah, that’s what I say. I keep it simple.”

Heaves a sigh then, and busies himself with a sip from his own bottle. Clears his throat and hums his acknowledgment, “Ridiculously enough. He hadn’t seemed like a dick, but y’know, whatever. It’s lame, I know.”

“Do people ever seem like dicks when you decide you like them?” He shrugged. “I take it you two were relatively close?”

“I think maybe I’m just a fan of ‘spiced’ alcohol. Rum, Whiskey, yep.” Gives an amused hum and a broad shrug, “Fireball is probably a little better mixed with somethin’ else.” He took but a moment to accept the bottle handed to him, and chuckled lightly. “Aye, I may be a wild man, but I’ll go ahead and grab a glass.”

He slips on over to the sink, grabs a glass for himself, before pausing. “Ya want a glass too, right? Aye, clean can be pretty important in itself. I’m not either though, it just kind of goes all over the place.”

Rafe shook his head, moving to flop onto the couch with a bottle of Knob Creek before sipping the strong bourbon. He waited for Marlon to sit. “Clean is well and good enough for me,” he said. 

After a moment, he raised a brow. “So you’re bumming out over some dick?” he asked.

“Aye, Whiskey is generally a pretty good choice, I think. I don’t do a whole lotta drinking normally, beyond like– Fireball.” Chuckles lightly and gives a broad shrug, before he’s casually taking a look over the room they were now in. “ It is a nice room, man. Mines very basic.” Just to give an amused hum, and crack a light grin himself. “Aye, I’d imagine so!”

“I do have Fireball. Good for mixing with other things, but I don’t like it by itself.” He took out the bottle, passing it over to Marlon. “Cups are above the sink, but you can also just slug it from the bottle.”

At the compliment, Rafe grinned. “Thanks. Not much of a decorator, but at least it’s clean.”

“I thought so~!” He returned jokingly, before he’s following along a short moment later. He had actually been a little curious as to what the other level’s rooms were actually like. Obviously, fourth was pretty much the basic of the basic. But hey, if you’ve been moving around as much as he has been, well. He slips inside once Rafe motions, gives an impressed little whistle and chuckle when Rafe opened up the liquor case. “That is a whole lotta booze, aha, I think I have one bottle somewhere. Still packed, actually. Ya tapped into any of that?”

“I’m a bourbon and whiskey guy. I’ve opened the Jim Bean? But I’ve got pretty much everything you can thinking of. I was the life of the party at Uni.” He grinned at Marlon.

“Y’know, that’s awfully good point! Don’t mind if I do then~.”

“Excellent.” He turned to lead the way, hoping Marlon would follow. He liked his second ward room; it was clean and nicely decorated. And the fridge and liquor cabinet was well stocked. Pulling out his key, he slid it into the lock before gesturing that Marlon should step inside. Dropping the set on the counter, he moved to open said liquor cabinet with a flourish. “Tada.”
