Just thinking about how Krytonian biology is almost identical to human biology but also kinda not. So, Clark likely can get sick, just not in our biosphere. Then I start to think about Clark going off world or meeting other species and catching bacteria from them that can harm his system. Like one day, he comes back from a mission and goes straight back to running around as Clark and Superman until he finds himself completely exhausted. He's shivering and feeling weird as he'd describe it because he's never been sick before. He knows its not kryptonite bc its not that bad but something is wrong and its scaring the crap out of him. His body is sending signals to him he's never had to interpret before because his pain scales goes: normal and im about to die right now with no in-between. So, of course he takes it as a im about to die right now problem. At this point, his body temperature is rising rapidly to kill the virus. His skin is boiling but he's also puffing out sub zero air with every breath. His super strength is but nothing now and he's feeling like a lead block is keeping him on the ground. His sinus are clogs but also superhearing so everything just sounds loud and incomprehensible. His stomach hurts so bad and he's doesn't know what nausea feels like so he pukes all over himself on accident.

The fever is frying his brain and human medicine won't do anything so he's just curls in on himself to suffer until someone competent finds him. When someone does show up, his description of the situation consists of sobbing and the most pathetic "I don't feel good" you've ever heard.

Honestly, the competent person is question is probably Bruce. He's Kryptonian expert #1 bc Clark refuses to study up on his own. He's caring but also probably keeping Clark in an isolation room till he's positive he's not contagious to humans. Then he'd move him upstairs while he worked on a cure so he didn't have to hear Clark moaning like a dying animal. Even still, Clark's healing would be one part highly experimental newly synthesized medicine but mostly Bruce holding the phone up to Clark's ear while he talked to him mom, wrapping the man up in a burrito so he feel secure, sun laps and hand feeding him chicken soup.

Imagine Martha and Johnathan being really into the church before Clark. Bake sales, fundraisers, town meeting, bible study, community gatherings, the whole nine yards. Once they adopt him, Clark loves all of it but being around so many people with a super baby who barely understands his powers raises a lot of questions so they all but stop going outside of necessary event for sales from the farm.

When Clark’s older and has a better handle on him powers, they try going back but one night at dinner Clark asked if he can still go to heaven if he’s not a human. Martha says of course he can with a smile on her face and then tell Johnathan they’d should stop going again that night before bed.

Something I love about the casting of Tom Welling as Clark Kent even though he’s a 24 year old at the start of the series when the character is supposed to be 15 is that he captures something in Clark that an actual fifteen year old might not and it’s that “Too big/ Too strong for your mind” dilemma. Clark is still a child but he is so much larger than his peers and it causes people to treat him like an adult when he's not. Especially Lex, who I think forgets their age gap at times. Tom bring this vulnerability to the role with he big eyes and the way his voice tears up when he’s trying to be brave to remind us of who we’re seeing is still a boy.

Then as the series continues, Tom ages him so subtly until one episode were looking at a complete, more mature character. Still, as Clark is in his early twenties, we still get glimpses of the innocents he used to hold. Like when he hugs him mom or when he's staring down an impossible task and he just wants to talk to his dad.
