ameline-robicheaux:
“You’ll find that I am in a constant state of embarrassment.” She stated it as a fact, although there was a playful tone to her voice. Ameline had grown to accept that she would never fully shed her nature, that she could never completely change. Besides, she didn’t seem to be doing too bad; she had great friends and they managed to love her all the same. What more could she ask for?
With a smile plastered on her face, Ameline gathered up the bags of food and gestured to the Chevy Avalanche parked in front of the store. “You can, uh, you can ride with me unless you have your own car. Do you know how to get to the Sterling apartments?”
“Just as long as you’re having somewhat fun of being in an embarrassed state,” Wesley said with a laugh. It was weird, this was weird. Even though he wasn’t opening up much, Wes felt comfortable enough to begin to share things with her and maybe he would begin that when they get back to the Sterling complex. He felt like that place was more of his home and he was meeting new people almost everyday. It was overwhelming, but nice.
Watching as she stood up and gathered her things, he did the same and ran his fingers through his hair. Focusing his eyes on her car, he smiled and nodded. “Sure. Gettin’ a ride with you sounds good. I do have a car, but I decided to walk to work this morning.”
