THE WEST WING → 4.03 'College Kids'
i’m drooling
I love how when Allison Janney auditioned for parts when she was younger, directors would say how she wasn't attractive enough and I'm like 😱 are you people insane?
it dawned upon me that while I've posted my edits on twitter, I haven't posted them on here...
I love when Bartlet has one of his staff members trapped in his office with him and he just rambles to them about whatever fun facts he's feeling at the time
This is the best representation of what teaching college is like 🤣

If you go after those women, say they’re all bimbos and liars, I’ll be right there with them, and I can handle anything your people throw at me.

“I’m not going to hide in my office. I’m going to go into my office and devise a strategy. That is what I do. I’m a professional. I’m not a little boy.” “Mmm, that’s the spirit.”

Attachment Styles of The West Wing Characters- Amature Take
***Spoilers!***
CJ- Dismissive Avoidant
Not completly sure, but she seems like someone who is always caught up in her work and uses it as an excuse to not open up to new relationships, despite really wanting to have one. It is very hard for her to be emotionally vulnerable with Danny and then persues Simon because he is professionally unavailable. "I'm good at working Danny, I'm not good at this!"
Sam- Secure
Despite Sam's anxious ways, he seems very balanced in his view on relationships even if things don't work out for him and he has good self esteem.
Toby- Dismissive Avoidant
He is similar to CJ who involves himself in his work but also wants to have a relationship with Andy. She has her own problems as well. Toby seems to be more aware of his dismissiveness than CJ and works hard to be secure in his life in the later seasons.
Leo- Disorganized
Leo has both dismissive avoidant and anxious avoidant traits. He wants to make sure the people who he cares about stay with him, but also is very dismissive avoidant towards his wife. He wants to take his attorney out on a date immediately and then pulls away later.
Josh- Dismissive Avoidant
Josh is the typical workaholic who doesn't know how to get close to people or pick up on cues that people like Donna like him. But he does go after Amy and Mandy, but they were never that serious.
Donna- Secure?
She is a tough one. I see her as being the most well adjusted characters on the show who knows her boundaries and what she wants.
Jed- Secure?
Also a hard one. He seems secure but I could also see him as dismissive avoidant because he does what he wants with his life without always consulting Abbey, who has to keep reminding him they're a team.
it’s been forever and a half since I used this blog but man marathon-watching the first season today made me dive right back into feeling insane about the west wing
