whenever Bruce pisses Dick off during a case as Nightwing and Batman, Dick just goes and changes into his civilian work uniform so that he can pull out a gun in front of Batman and Batman can’t say shit. Jason finds it hysterical.
Batman: we don’t use guns.
Officer Grayson, cocking a pistol: i dunno who the fuck *we* is, but i sure as hell ain’t a part of it
Batman:
Red Hood, watching from a rooftop: *distant cackles*
Batman: *sigh* Dick-
Officer Grayson, raising his voice over the sound of him shooting at the ground near their opponents: OH I’M SORRY, HAVE WE MET BEFORE?
Batman: -I TOLD YOU I DIDN’T KNOW THE ICE-CREAM WAS YOURS, OK I’M SORRY-
Officer Grayson: I’M AFRAID I CAN’T HEAR YOU OVER THE SOUND OF ME BRINGING THE PEACE-
Batman: YOU JUST SHOT AT ME-
Red Hood: *filming* GET HIM, OFFICER!
Batman, ducking away from Dick’s shots: RED HOOD GO AWAY-
when you think about it teenagers of the next generation will never get to experience a cw show with 7+ seasons and 22 episodes per season. they will never know what it's like to be insanely obsessed with a mediocre show with mediocre writing and mediocre acting (with one really good actor carrying the show on their backs). they will never know the feeling of fighting weekly in the trenches for your ship only for the writers to screw you over. they will never be so increasingly disappointed by the worsening writing choices as the seasons progress and they will never know what it's like to watch the worst series finale after investing years into a show. and that is the biggest tragedy.
The Devil Wears Prada is a life-altering portal for me. Everytime I watch something connected to that world, a big decision happens in my life.
After watching the first film, I knew I wanted to work in an industry like that. I then went to watch the play in London featuring Vanessa Williams.
She wasn't at that viewing because she had to return home to deal with personal matters. At the time, I was sick and tired of my job, and was basically on my way out. It was painful because that job secured a lot for me. I was unhappy with the job but it did pay my bills and it was primarily remote work so what I saved in travel, I spent on food.
After leaving that job, I was unemployed for most of 2025, working odd jobs to try and hold an income and contribute to my household.
I landed a job in September, which I wasn't happy with but knew it's where I needed to be, to pay my bills and contribute to my bills. I was on probation for six months, and didn't know if I was going to pass. To be honest, I didn't really care if I passed probation. So every paycheck I received, I ensured most of it went towards paying off loans and credit cards.
The main stress about not having a job comes from the uncertainty of being able to pay your bills. If no one had bills to pay, no one would really give a shit about their job. They'd do jobs more community and arts focus—I think.
Anyway, I watched The Devil Wears Prada play for a second time in December 2025 and it was 12 days before I was let go from my job because the company was ceasing operations. I was devastated but not to unhappy. I managed to pay off most bills and was in the best financial position I could be in. I guess I was just sad because I didn't know when my next paycheck was coming.
Yesterday, I went to watch the Devil Wears Prada 2 and the cinema experience was great. We went to a really fancy cinema. But somehow, my passion for publishing has kicked up a notch, and I want to fix-up my tumblr so it looks more aesthetically pleasing. I love writing.
I hope watching this film this time brings more positive change to my life. Even though watching projects connected to this franchise have changed my life and maybe made me slightly uncomfortable at the time, I think more of that energy will continue to fester.
My life will continue to change for the better. Because every time I stop to think about my life, it always works out in the end. I don't endure hardship for too long. Very happy about that actually. Thank you.
So, yeah. I don't know what it is about that franchise, but it really is a catalyst for change to me. I wonder what the next change is going to be...
Smoke: I want you to lean on this horn alright? Can you do that for me?
Lil girl: *nods in agreement*
Smoke: Can you tell time?
Lil girl: *nods in agreement*
Smoke: Then I'mma pay you ten cents for every minute that I'm gone. Will that work for you?
Lil girl: Yes sir.
Smoke: No ma'am. See we talking numbers now, and numbers always gotta be in conversation with each other. You understand? You gotta negotiate. Now, ten cents just won't work for you. Talk another number back to me.
