☆ #belladonnaspeaks as of recently, i’ve been writing so much poetry, but much of it has felt too personal: too vulnerable to share. lately i’ve found myself watching old videos of my life, almost like a time lapse of memory. in one clip, i noticed how loudly i laughed. i’ve always had this ridiculous cackle, something that’s felt so strange for such a quiet person. it reminded me of these specific words i wrote awhile back —

‘i don’t think i’m ethereal, but i wish i was. i snort when i laugh too hard, and cry with every emotion.

my mouth bleeds when i bite too hard, and my eyes are too sensitive for the sun.

i completely lack mystic, but others say that’s what makes them feel safe around me.

i’m awkward, yet talkative. i crave the adrenaline of crowds, but fear it all at once.

i wish i was soft spoken like a quiet nymph, but at times when my nasally voice echos back at me i hear the sound of my mother. i wish i was the beauty i see in others, but i’m just me.’
