I AM WALKING RIGHT NOW
WALK SLOWER YOU SPEED DEMON
I think Kawehi is making that pointÂ
âOur family never moved to the United States. The United States came to Hawaii and never left.â
This child is perfect.
It took me a second to realize this was a pun and not a joke about WWI-related literature/poetry (and/or Modernism generally).
Once my friend Henry was accused of wearing wireless headphones by a substitute so she said for him to hand them over so he took them off and handed them to her. Then later on she asked him a question and he didnât respond so she said it louder and he still didnât respond. She asked why he was not responding and he said âI canât understand you ma'am, you took my hearing aids.â
HOLY SHIT
iâm crying at the comment
A surefire way for mothers to get their sons to tuck in their shirts, 1940s style (via Kitsch-Slapped)
The illustrated boy looks pretty darn pleased with his cute new lace edging.
I can see him now meeting his friends at the soda fountain.Â
âFellows, check out Momâs latest effort at mind control.â (spins)
(chorus of whistles and applause)
âWhy, Jimmy, I do believe youâve started a fashion!â
âLetâs go to the Woolworth and get lace edging for all our shirts!â
âDoug can sew them on, he got his Handicraft merit badge last summer!â
âNever regretted it.â
âJimmy, your mom has some internalised misogyny to figure out.â
âDonât I know it.â
I would read novels about these boys
sending âI hope you get that jobâ vibes to the people out here tryna get jobs

I love miami beaches.
But thereâs one thing that gets me pissed off and I hate. U literally walk en la agua cochina esa y lo primero que encuentras es la mierda esa !!!! AQUI, AQUI, DONDE QUIERAS EN LA PLAYA
I wna ask U all, point-blank, as I have recently asked myself: exactly who does it help to lie abt who men are? who does it help to pretend that men are either mindless monsters, or mindless w/the potential to be monsters? who does it help to pretend that men arenât traumatized by n into masculinity? hell, who does it help to pretend that men arenât traumatized by us?
I wna expand on this post n say that the way we all think abt men n masculinity has to change entirely â the kinds of conversations we are having abt men are not at all useful n will not bring abt any kind of sustainable change in menâs behaviour â assuming that this is what we are seeking to bring abt, or that we seek to bring abt anything at all [seeing as many feminists seem to be invested in maintaining the stability n predictability (= reliability?) of the male-oppressor/female-victim binary (c/o: @pussy-strut)]
popular feminist conversation has tended to conceptualise men (1) as a universally- n uniformly-oppressive monolith (c/o: @medicine), (2) as caricatures â as almost non-sentient; as w/o inner lives, w/o motivations, beliefs, thoughts, n feelings outside of those produced by masculinity; as being only animated n propelled by masculinity, n (3) as being free of trauma n suffering; or, at least, as experiencing negligible trauma in comparison to the trauma of other gendered identities, or in comparison to the trauma that they cause
Iâve noticed that reference to menâs humanity/vulnerability is taboo within feminist circles, n I think that the reason for this is two-fold: many feminists seem to think that making it clear that men are human, vulnerable individuals (1) is only ever a way of justifying their violent, dehumanising behaviour, n (2) takes away from the fact that women [n other gendered identities] are human, vulnerable individuals themselves, n threatens/attempts to dehumanise women [n other gendered identities] in favour of positioning men as the only ones capable/deserving of humanity
this is bc these are ways that menâs violent behaviour has been popularly excused n maintained in favour of patriarchal n capitalist aims â their humanity, their individuality, the ways theyâve been traumatized by masculinity ⊠these are used almost w/o fail as trump cards, to allow men to escape responsibility for their behaviour â
however! the answer to this isnât to politicize a knee-jerk reaction! the answer to this isnât to then deny that men are human or vulnerable at all! it is impossible, completely impossible to fully hold men responsible for their violent, anti-social, dehumanising behaviour n for their complicity in masculinity ⊠to change men, or to have men change themselves ⊠unless we take into account (1) the ways they have been coerced n traumatized into masculinity itself, including the ways we are complicit in that coercion n trauma, n (2) their fears, their insecurities, their hopes, their beliefs, their motivations ⊠instead of projecting our beliefs abt what those things are onto them n their behaviour â this is integral!
we must stop investing in that clean, palatable n popular feminist narrative in which men are only ever unfeeling, unthinking oppressors or potential-oppressors â we must stop pretending that ignoring or disregarding menâs humanity n trauma is radical or progressive â we must stop conflating understanding menâs motivations w/justifying or excusing their resultant behaviour
for once, I wna fully appreciate n take seriously what men are trying to get across when they say: we suffer, too! we are hurt, too! we are traumatized, too! n sometimes, itâs bc of U!
not voting for hillary clinton is a vote for donald trump
But also THERE ARE MORE THAN TWO CHOICES IN THIS ELECTION pls people, I know it seems unlikely, but if everyone who didnât want either candidate wrote in a name, someone else would stand a chance [and we could live with ourselves, not having voted for one or the other]
no they wouldnât, literally do not do this
please educate yourself about nader and the 2000 presidential election before encouraging this literally terrible idea
People on both sides say âNot voting for my candidate is a vote for the other guyâ No, itâs just not a vote for your fucking candidate. Vote for who you actually believe in, otherwise you might as well not vote. If Hillary actually gave a damn she would try harder than just say âVote for me cause Iâm not Trumpâ No bitch, how about you show me something I can believe in. God damn, no wonder so many people donât fucking vote.
*sigh*
Let me explain why they say a vote for a 3rd candidate or not voting for Hillary is voting for Trump:
The United States does not have a direct democratic voting system. We have an indirect system called the electoral college. The electoral college is a compromise between election of the President by a vote in Congress and election of the President by a popular vote of qualified citizens.
To win the Presidency you do not need a popular majority; you need the majority of votes of the electoral college.Â
The way the college works is that the two parties select the delegates that will serve as electors, and the electors pledge to vote for the candidates, depending on their party affiliation, of either the democratic or republican party. So, when people go vote, they are actually going to vote for electors that have pledged to vote for a specific party/candidate.Â
Each state is allocated a different number of electoral seats, and so not every state is truly worth the same given that every candidate is racing to secure 270 seats (minimum required to win the election).Â
Whatâs important to note is that the electoral college is a winner take all vote in 48 of the 50 states, meaning that the candidate with the higher number of votes in a given state will get ALL of the seats. This is one of the reasons why third party candidates are a wasted vote.Â
Based on our countryâs history, most States around the country have already been defined as either red or blue, because the majority of the people that go and vote in said states tend to stick to either one or the other no matter who is on the ballot. It becomes a bit of loyalism to a party or, more accurately, just a strong distaste towards the ideals of the other party. However, there are a few swing states that really define the elections, for each election cycle they tend to change depending on who is on the ballot.Â
Now, third party candidates, which is often used as a protest vote, have never worked because a) they are not written into every state ballot, meaning that there are states that donât offer these candidates given that they did not qualify b) have rarely gotten enough votes to even be up for electoral seats c) ALWAYS end up hurting one of the two candidates, for, in close runs, they can make one of the other two candidates lose a SWING STATE.
This is what happened with Ralph Nader in 2000. The votes that he received hurt Gore in certain states, particularly florida, which led to Bush winning as he had the majority of electoral seats even though he did not have the majority in popular vote.Â
Now, in the latest poll, it shows that the race between Hillary and trump is very close, and, when third party candidates are involved, it actually HURTS Hillaryâs chances.Â
Now, if it hurts her enough, Trump can obtain the much needed swing states. If he gets over 270 seats (and thus more than hillary) he WILL win the goddamn election.Â
This is not a year to vote for a third party candidate. This is not a man you want in the oval office of the most powerful country in the world.Â
There is nothing NOTHING you can pull out that will make Trump the lesser of two evils.Â
We live in a country that has a two party system, so yes, a vote for a 3rd party candidate or a non-vote IS actually a vote for trump.Â
âi wish i lived in the country side!â
no u dont. You dont want to have to drive an hour just to get some McDonalds. There is nothing to do here and everyone is racist. My neighbourâs chickens got stolen last week
According to Nintendo Waluigi isn't related to Wario
Heâs just some guy who randomly showed up one day that became friends with Wario. That makes it even better. Nobody knows where Waluigi came from. He just exists.
whats even better is that Waluigiâs first appearance was in Mario Tennis, meaning that the only reason he showed up in the first place was because he wanted to play tennis with people. nobody had ever heard of him before and he just shows up to play tennis
Thatâs why Waluigi is never in any of the main games. He only knows Wario and he only wants to play sports. Heâs just some guy that met Wario at the tennis court and he hangs with Wario whenever Wario goes out to play sports, and otherwise he minds his own business.
Waluigi probably has his own circle of friends that weâve never seen. Thereâs an entire world of Waluigi that we havenât touched upon simply because he isnât the adventuring type. Wario phones him up and says âHey bro, Iâm-a gonna go on an adventure to get-a some jewels from a pyramid. You wanna come with?â and Waluigiâs just like âNah bro, Iâm good. Me and my buds are gonna swing by the coffee shop and go to the library today. Hit me up if you wanna go go-karting though!âÂ
God damn. The mild world of Waluigi.Â
