I wonder if for a single second, you stopped and thought about what it is like to not be Muslim. If you thought about how for every 1 muslim killed in a hate crime, 20 non Muslims are killed in an act of terrorism. Are you more concerned that in some countries 60% of Muslims support the suicide bombings of non-Muslims, or the fact that maybe, maybe, 1/30 Americans would consider committing a hate crime against you.

You do not get to do this. Your culture does not get to carve a bloody swathe through the West with nail bombs and beheadings and then pretend you are the victims.

In the USA, since 2001, 13 Muslims have been killed in hate crimes in the USA. 13. Do you have any idea how many people were killed in 9/11 alone? Add in the Boston bombing, Fresno, San Bernardino, Ohio State, LA Airport in 2002, etc etc etc.

In France, 8 Muslims were killed in Hate crimes since 1988, 10x that many died in the Nice Attacks, and over 15x that many died in the Paris shootings

In the UK, 4 Muslims have died in hate crimes since, 2005. The London bridge attack alone had 11 dead.

The fake eruption of Mt. Edgecumbe was the work of a local prankster, 50-year-old Oliver “Porky” Bickar. The idea to ignite the volcano had occurred to him in 1971. As soon as he thought of the idea, he knew he had to do it. So he collected 70 old tires that he kept in an airplane hangar. But he had to wait three years, until April Fool’s Day 1974, until the visibility conditions were just right for the prank.

Concerned residents spilled out of their homes onto the streets to gaze up at the volcano. Calls poured in to local authorities. The Coast Guard commander radioed the Admiral in Juneau who ordered a chopper be sent out to investigate.

As the Coast Guard pilot approached Mt. Edgecumbe, the plume of smoke grew in size. Finally he was right above it, and he peered down into the crater. At first, he couldn’t believe what he was seeing. He looked more closely, and then he laughed. Stacked in the cone of the volcano, burning with a greasy flame, was a huge pile of old tires. And spray-painted in the snow beside the tires, in 50-foot-high black letters, were the words “APRIL FOOL.”

Porky’s favorite response to the prank was when he received a letter from an attorney, inside of which was a clipping from the Denver Post with a photo of Mt. St. Helens erupting. Attached was a note that read, “This time, you little bastard, you’ve gone too far.” [x]

This is a guess but if that person is an anarchist and/or communist, they probably support taking guns away from groups in power (police) but not regular citizens. We have to be able to arm ourselves against those in power. This is where we break with most liberals, who generally support gun control for civilians but not police and military.

OK anon, but Communists not taking away guns from their populations would go against everything we’ve seen governments of that type do in the past.

Any take on gun control that centers on people with disabilities is an extremely bad take. People with mental disabilities are far more likely to be victims of gun violence than anything else. Don’t say that we need to disarm people with mental health needs. Say that we need to disarm police officers, white supremacists and domestic abusers.

I think the UK is playing its hand too early with all of these recent arrests for wrong think. Not in terms of controlling its own citizens, that ship has already sailed and as far as I’m concerned the only recourse is to get out while you can. 

But I’m talking about in terms of potentially giving Americans proper political ammunition and pressure to fight against Gun Control and other right curtailing efforts. If the UK keeps arresting people for saying things that the people in charge don’t like then it gives more and more examples for the American right to point towards and say “That’s our future if we give ground now”. 

This should especially be a strong motivator for anyone who has noticed the hard shift left in academic and political spaces of the last couple of decades. You’ve already got a strong movement among Leftist Authoritarians to harass and browbeat anyone who doesn’t accept whatever they shit out now and that will only get worse if they’re allowed to enforce their views with jailtime/violence.
