WHAT IN THE WORLD IS FILIGREE?!

ATELIER ‘MARTA PEJOSKA’ is а design studio for contemporary filigree jewellery. Mainly we use the traditional filigree technique and silver as basic material. The main idea of the studio is creating contemporary (wearable art) jewellery which emerges from the collision between the old traditional filigree technique-it‘s conservative principals and the mind of the young artist-it’s freedom of thinking. Two design aspects are leading the work of the designer. The contemporary development of the design of the filigree jewellery and the preservation of the traditional filigree technique which is part of the Macedonian Cultural Heritage.

Spring 2016 i did this master piece of a necklace, for Jana. Until this day, it is one of my favorites. . I remember, sitting down with her, having coffee by the lake and just talk, so I can get the idea what is it that she really wants her jewellery to be. Some time later this piece emerged. It is stunning, isn’t it?!
