the real reason i’ve never been in love, is because im always in love with someone. i fall for the coffee boy, the boy who’s buying jeans from me at work, the boy riding his bike down the street, the boy on the subway, the boy checking out across from me in the supermarket. perhaps thats why i never fall for those who reciprocate. because by the time theyre falling in love with me, ive already fallen out of love with them.

In 1965, Grey Villet photographed an interracial couple then embroiled in legal tangles. Rather than focusing on the controversy, he focused on the heart of the matter: love.
