(This is a really interesting concept, the author crosses over the canon universe with the universe of her own fic. Langley’s Sci-Regency universe (to those unfamiliar: it’s a series of gay erotica novels about a galaxy comprised mainly of gay men, in the future with space technology and all that jazz, but with society like Regency England (yes, that means cravats, top hats, ballroom dancing, royalty), and heavily influenced by Stargate. The crew of the Enterprise finds themselves in a galaxy nearby a planet called Relegence, and most of the men are gay.
Zenith Twilight AU, but with Iowa and aliens and crop circles, rather than Forks and vampires and blood.
★ The Prophecy of Apollo AU Based on Psyche and Cupid myth. Surak’s teachings never spread, and the Federation is at odds with the Vulcans. Warlord Sarek’s son Spock goes into pon farr, and Jim agrees to be his bond mate. (Careful, it’s a WIP, but what’s there is just so great in terms of character development that you have to read it, even if it means mourning forever that it’ll probably never be completed.)

(Yes, yes, it’s a WIP, but it’s just so GREAT and you absolutely should give it a chance even though you’ll cry about it being incomplete everyday. However, the author said that she was having computer troubles and it will be updated, so let’s form a prayer circle for KCaCV to update soon.)
Close Encounters Present day, Alien Encounter AU. Jim wakes up one night to investigate strange noises and lights in his fields, and is abducted (he kind of goes willingly) and probed by an alien Spock.

My summary cannot possibly cover the AWESOME that this fic is. And the author really knows so well all the medical and technical stuff.)

This is what that would look like. (I know it’s a 23 part series, but each one is relatively short or medium lenght, and you don’t have to read them all- though they’re all beautifully written and have Spock/Kirk in each, in case you’re thinking of not reading one of the fics because it’s not centered around them)
Take Refuge in What You Know 100k+ words. (I haven’t read this, which is why there isn’t a star yet, but I keep seeing this on rec lists, so it must be great. I’m going to read it soon.) Present Day AU. Spock is Jim’s agoraphobic neighbor.
