My sister in law got kicked out/moved out in Thanksgiving and *apparently* left her fish behind and NO ONE bothered to change his water or tell me so I could so ummm guess who has a new betta fish

He will be very pretty once he's all better from ammonia burns :/ he's a fighter though, his tank was so covered in algae that I couldn't see him

I cleaned his tank and gave him a water change and some dechlorinator and seachem prime; so hopefully that will help him for now. I've gotta find the cattapa leaves I have so he can have some black water to help him recuperate.

🚨 new fish alert 🚨

Everyone meet EMMETT!!

He is rotund from the shrimps he just devoured. Is he named after Emmett Cullen? So what if he is! At first I was just gonna call him Rosalie but I couldn't come up with a masculine version I liked enough and then I was just going thru the Twilight cast and I was like oh... You're Emmett. For sure.

He is residing in Fergus' old tank... And he is really going after and eating all the fuzz on the wood. I mean... Go for it bud.

He started off as translucent + yellow, black, and shiny blue. After being in the warm cycles tank for maybe 10 minutes his entire body is a very pale shade of blue and yellow. Almost tie-dye mustard gas colors? But he's not mustard gas? Unless he is secretly. Anyway. I can not wait for his BEAUTY to come thru.
