So I sat and counted the number of hairstyles for each race to see what the breakdown was and the numbers are incredibly sobering.
f!human - 48 basic hairstyles, 18 hairstyle kit
m!human - 45 basic hairstyles, 18 hairstyle kit
f!norn - 23 basic hairstyles, 18 hairstyle kit
m!norn - 17 basic hairstyles, 18 hairstyle kit
f!sylvari - 15 basic hairstyles, 19 hairstyle kit
m!sylvari - 14 basic hairstyles, 19 hairstyle kit
f!asura - 12 basic hairstyles, 18 hairstyle kit
m!asura - 12 basic hairstyles, 18 hairstyle kit
m!charr - 12 basic hairstyles, 18 hairstyle kit
f!charr - 11 basic hairstyles, 18 hairstyle kit
Some interesting items are the higher number of hairstyle kit styles for sylvari and the significant difference in basic styles between f and m norn models.

Where sylvari did a little better than asura and charr in hairstyles, they suffer in facial types. f!human, m!human, and f!norn continue to lead the pack, but m!norn got hit even harder here.
I feel like anet really needs to look at this and at least consider updating the CC for everyone else. It's dire out here for anyone NOT playing humans.
