“Monsters, evil labs giving kids super powers.” Nancy shrugged, grateful to be away from it even if she sounded crazy. It was crazy, but her brother and everyone else was safe, as far as she knew. “It sounds like something out of some bad superhero comic book, I know.”

Alec hummed softly. “What is it you are good with shooting?” He asked, not really sure what other weapons there could be where you aim. He was used to dealing with his arrows and then swords.
“Guns, mostly. I know a guy who has this decked out baseball bat that’s great, but not really for target practice.” Granted, Steve could do a killer amount of damage with it, but it wasn’t for her.

Alec smiled softly at the girl before shaking his head. “You don’t have to give me the money. It was mostly just me being a show off.”
“Well hey, if you’re that good of a shot, it’s worth showing off. I’d do the same thing if it wasn’t as frowned upon to use what I shoot with.” Nancy shrugged. She was a great shot, with guns, but it had come from necessity more than anything else. “You sure you don’t want the money? I mean, a bet’s a bet.”

“It’s fine.” Jessica said simply, knowing that she had brought the topic up by muttering to herself in the middle of the street where anybody could hear her. I’m not really worried about ratios anyway as long as there are some good guys around here somewhere.”
“I haven’t really done much guy watching myself since I got here, so I can’t really speak from personal experience.” She shrugged, glancing around. Compared to Hawkins, the city was like another world, only without as many Will related problems. “But I mean, this place is huge, I’m sure there are some decent ones here.”

“I mean, it’s daunting. I feel like I’m having one of those ‘we’re not in Kansas anymore’ moments. But I’ve seen enough scary shit that I wouldn’t say terrifying.”

“Hawkins, Indiana. It’s pretty small to begin with, especially compared to this place.”

“Very impressive.” Nancy nodded, reluctantly holding out the bill. She’d pay her debts, but she hadn’t really come to New York loaded. “So the bow’s your weapon, I’m guessing.”

“New York has to be better than home right? There are more people at least so statistically not all of the guys can be assholes.” Jessica sighed looking around at the place she had chosen to make her new home. The place where she was hoping to have a new start.
“Statistically speaking, that seems like a safe bet. The math behind it could get complicated, though.” Nancy agreed, realizing a moment late that that the new girl - well, newer than her, at least - hadn’t been talking to her. “-- Sorry. I’m sure asshole to city ratios aren’t great neighborly, first impression conversation.”

“Nancy?” Max recognized the girl as soon as she walked into the hallway. “Can you believe that we are in New York in 2018?”
“Max?” She couldn’t lie, it was a relief to see someone familiar, even one of Mike’s friends. “Would it be crazy if I said it’s not the weirdest thing to happen? It’s still weird though, I should be like. . .old. Have you seen anyone else from home?”
