I finished my game finally!! It's called SMiLE

This project has taken me so long that admittedly it feels more like a reflection of who i was four years ago or so than who I am now. But hey, I soldiered on and completed it, even when it seemed certain that it would end up confined to the great dustbin of Overambitious First RPG Maker Projects.

This game is a nifty little adventure about trying to save the world from destruction even when that may not actually be possible. It's quirky and wacky and dare I say even a tad EarthBound-inspired. I'd tell you I worry that it's cringe, but no one wants to hear that from me, including the people who are going to think it's cringe.

What I hope it is, is funny and heartfelt and charming and maybe a little unsettling at times. It's the work of someone learning to make games and that's very obvious. I hope that's a feature and not a bug. One advantage of being so slow is that, while modern generative AI didn't exist when I started development, nowadays we're so awash in slop that things that look like they were made by flawed, amateurish humans feel more special. Or I hope so, at any rate.

Also, the game and soundtrack are both available for free! I hope they provide excellent value-for-money

one time i was making potato soup and i needed broth for it but i was out of broth. but in my dog food cabinet there was a carton of chicken broth that i had bought for my dog. now the box did say HUMAN GRADE and the ingredients were just bog standard chicken broth. it did say something about joint health for dogs on there. but the ingredients were normal. i even compared the ingredients list to some normal person broth and they were the same. so i did put dog broth in that soup and it did taste completely normal. but i did use the dog broth.

You gotta be really publicly passionate about things if you want your friends to text you. Bc people will forget to text you because they’re human. But if you’re really openly the friend who loves identifying ants your friends will think of you when they see ants. And they’ll text you “what ant is this [blurry photo]”. And then they’ll ask you how you’ve been and we should get coffee sometime. But if they don’t know what you love they’ll never know what you like
