Upcycled Bible Verse Graphic Hoodie

✨“Consider How the Wildflowers Grow” from Luke 12:27 with a monarch butterfly. I was inspired by linocut stamp design, where traditionally black ink is used and the stamp holds lots of texture and detail. After creating this design digitally, I took this secondhand sourced sweatshirt (which I found at a Christian thrift store) and had a local print shop print it for me.

Meet the Artist & Owner!

Caption: You can call me Jojo! Here I am modeling one of my upcycled graphic tees quoting a Bible verse.

✨It started with an interest in anime and art in middle school, which evolved into a bachelor’s degree in graphic design. I’ve always loved to draw and realized illustration was a passion. I wanted to make a career out of it, but I wanted it to mean something more than fun concepts and doodles. Out of this desire and years of drawing is where I found my artistic style, and as all artists know, that continues to be reformed.

✨In 2023 I felt called to start my own business called wheerie Life illustrations, where I was focused on upcycling clothes, particularly printing my designs on thrifted garments. I realized after a year of pursuing this that I preferred to keep my options more open and not just limited to clothes. Thus, I switched my name to wheerie Life art, with the tagline: beautifully bizarre designs & illustrated goods.

✨My hope for wheerie Life art is to make the world a better place by fighting the practices that seek to destroy it. Therefore, much of my inspiration is from nature as well as the otherworldy, reflecting on what could be, what naturally is, or what we don't understand. Let's spark conversations of bizarre beauty and positivity to connect with our community and the planet.

✨When I’m not creating for Etsy or illustrating a freelance project (currently working on a children’s book), you can find me reading, walking, cooking, or snuggling with my husband or cat. 🐈

What is your favorite day of the week?

🌿wheerie (pronounced we’re- ree): since my artistic style lives between the emotional tension of whimsical and eerie, I thought to create my own word joining the two: wheerie.

🌿Life: always capitalized, to remind me of who brings me life and purpose- Jesus!

🌿art: I love how broad this term is. I sell illustrated goods- all of them a piece of my soul expressed in my artwork.
