If you like your rock and roll somewhere between 1950 and 1960 then the Gooch Palms are right up your alley. This is a two piece from Newcastle who have reloacted to the States and they do their rock and roll in a fine way. Apparently their live show is excellent and I'd be making sure they get back to Australia soon enough. This is a bit of a melanchony track but you shoudl still rock it and enjoy!
So I once went and saw this band play in front of 5 people (not including the 5 members of the support band) around this time 2 years ago. They have have now released and excellent album that I am really enjoying. If I was curating a festival this summer and wanted a local act that could fire up the crowd in an early afternoon set I'd choose theses guys. They are a 2 piece and would be cheaper to book than some bands and they would travel light. However, they rock live and play a little faster then this. I think this song is both excellent and hilarious. Lyrically, these guys nail it on this album which can be got from here for a fee. You should really rock it and enjoy.

Still great...
This track Spilt Boxes by Dignan Porch really brightened up my day before the afternoon got a bit blugh! Oh well, I can crank it tonight to cheer up the evening. You should give it a shot too, don't be put off by the strange baby picture, the more you look at it the funnier it gets. Rock it and enjoy.
Things I like about this decal on a restaurant window: -the insane orange waiter -that he’s carrying his plates in the air like a strongman -the couple looks like this isn’t the first time he’s done this, but it’s easier to just let it happen at this point. -the sign says PASTA as if he’s screaming it like a frankenstein -but he’s holding a plate of an entire chicken and a plate of wine glasses -there’s three wine glasses -one’s for him.

God bless this blog for keeping things in perspective.
Elliott is a fat kid with glasses who eats paste
This line is exactly why I never seriously considered calling either of my kids Elliott.
yes I do actually, what's it to you piss face!
RIP Rik Mayall
Here are some songs I hate passionately...
'All I Want To Do Is Make Love To You' - Heart (This is the shittest premise for a song ever and just a terrible chorus)
'Why Does It Always Rain On Me' - Travis (It rains on you because you live in Scotland and it rains on everyone there nearly every day - your fucking lies aren't important enough for the weather to take an interest in you)
'Tucker's Daughter' - Ian Moss (It is just DUMB)
That is all for now. I'll post more after my next visit to the supermarket.
yeah, tell 'em 'bout it
Without music the world is a cold, dark place full of silence.
Positive Distractions Part I by Secret Colours
Grandaddy - “Here” (Pavement cover)
So, as I mentioned, there is an out of print singled with this cover on it, but the only thing we have for our purposes is this pretty solid live clip that gives you the idea. This was the 2012 reunion, and throwing a Pavement cover in the encore was a bullseye on the dartboard of knowing their audience.
