Always Remember to Be Kind
I want to remember this story so i am writing it to myself.
It’s uncomfortable to talk about but there was this boy. He’s infamous.
It actually started when I was in freshman year of high school. This would be somewhere in December 2015. There is a boy, his name is James. He was loved by everyone, he was a basketball god, his teammates loved him, girls loved him. He’s extremely good looking, a mixed Korean American. Around this time the girls from school came back from APAC winning 2nd place, but all we could hear about is James. How good looking he was, how everyone wanted to be him, he was popular, all 7 schools talked about him, that was the first time you’ve heard of him.
Then about this next year you would constantly hear girls talk about his good looks, you would so often stalk him on Facebook and your friends would send friend requests to him because everyone wanted to be his friend but remember, Mr.Perfect is not Mr.Perfect.
It wasn’t until you became a sophomore in high school that news about him became bigger. He was indeed popular but not for something good, his news went around the whole school, not just the whole school though. His news went viral amongst the APAC schools. This news finally came around to you and your friends. This boy named James had murdered his mom and his aunt. Yes you read it correct, it is uncomfortable. You knew him, unlike your other friends you never met him, but you knew him from others. Everyone knew him. It was very uncomfortable to talk about with your friends. They personally met him before and have talked to him, but they never knew what he was capable of. You were completely shocked, as you could not accept Mr.Perfect to do something like this but you did not hear the whole story. The whole story did not make up for his mistakes but it explained it clearly.
The story went like this, James just graduated high school in Korea and he was spending his summer there before he left for university. Like a typical high schooler he was addicted to drugs. He was not a typical nice boy, he partied. That summer he spent days going out with his friends, going to clubs and taking drugs that he didn’t know would harm him. That night he came back home while on LSD. Most stories would have ended here, where the effects would soon wear off but not to him. James came home while still on LSD, his mother and aunt had just finished cooking and asked him to sit down for dinner. As a spoiled teenager he argued with his mom and aunt that there were not enough side dishes to eat dinner. This argument led to his anger and frustration and he ended up killing his aunt and mother with a kitchen knife. His frightened brother and father hid themselves in the room as they feared what would happen to them, but they were at fault too for not helping their loved ones. This boy who had everything soon quickly lost everything. He was arrested in Korea and sentenced to life in prison for 2 accounts of murder. He lost his opportunity to go to college with a basketball scholarship. He lost his friends, he lost everyone around him.
Do not forget this story, in the prime of your life do not forget to be humble, do not go crazy, do not do stupid things. Always think about your family and friends because at any moment you may lose everything.
