When it snows on freaking St. Patrick's Day:
When the temperature finally climbs to 50 degrees for the first time in three months, and all the college kids are wearing shorts and t-shirts while I'm still walking around in my winter coat:
When I learn that several of my favorite Shepherdstown businesses experienced a rash of burglaries:
When I walk into Grapes & Grains and they greet me by name and personally recommend wines based on what they know I like:
When Chuck the Meter Man tries to flirt with me:
When my co-workers and I see a guy grilling BBQ chicken in the street at 9 a.m. on a Friday morning in the sub-freezing cold:
When I'm crossing German Street and I'm not quite sure if that oncoming car is going to stop:
When the Polar Vortex: Round 2 sticks around for four straight days:
When I consider the prospect of getting stuck at work during a snowstorm, within walking distance of a wine shop, a couple of coffee houses, several bars and restaurants, sushi, a bakery, and a yoga studio:
Happy Snow Day, everyone!
When I beat the train:
When I'm nearly mowed down in the crosswalk on German Street:
When everyone but me seems to genuinely enjoy driving 15mph below the posted speed limit on Rte. 480 between Shepherdstown and Kearneysville:
When the students return after summer and winter break:
Welcome back, Shepherd students. And to incoming freshman, just plain welcome!
When I dream of living in the historic district, but then I price homes there:
When I arrive at a Jala Yoga class:
When I leave a Jala Yoga class:
When I attempt to navigate the brick sidewalks in freezing rain:
When I first learned Mellow Moods had stopped offering the Sweet Avocado wrap:
