This blog is dedicated to my Metal Sonic AU that is heavily inspired by the Wild Robot Movie (an absolute banger of a Dreamworks movie btw)

The premise of the story is that Metal Sonic ends up on an isolated island with no memories whatsoever. As he tries to navigate through this foreign terrain, he suddenly finds himself becoming a caretaker of a lone chao egg after a terrible, terrible accident.

This AU is still in its concept stage but I've been working on it for the past 2 years so I hope I've got the essentials down lmao. A lot of the world-building is based on indigenous culture, most notably Native American. Yet, I am not very well-versed with said culture so I will be working towards better understanding that and incorporating it into this story in a respectful manner. Please do not hesitate to correct me if I slip up

I have another passion project that is a top priority atm (see @cosmicdisorder2026 if you are interested) so this blog won't be as active. Once that's done I intend to focus all my energy into this project!

I’m thinking about making a comic of my unfinished book, I’ve made one page but I just don’t like it..my lines are thin and my artwork is inconsistent and always changing , I love your pages and was wondering if you could give any tips?

also I rlly love your backgrounds

my advice is genuinely just keep making it. Just keep trucking.

I did not like my pages when I started making comics and the style was also REALLY inconsistent because I was still fairly new to digital art and kept finding out new things I could use (found out about layer modes like halfway through the comic and went hod on them) and experimenting. But I just kept trucking. At least for me what was most important about my first comic was just seeing it done. It was more about proving to myself that I could finish something over like...perhaps the necessary quality (and oh boy. does the quality not show). But for a first comic, I don't think it really matters. No one's going to make the perfect comic (which doesn't exist) on their first go around.

if you want some advice on panel layouts/page flow/comic language/etc, I recommend Scott McCloud's books "Understanding Comics" and "Making Comics". If you saw that trend going around a while ago that was like "would you take me as serious if I drew myself like this?", it's from these books.

There is also the tried and true method of looking at other people's work and studying it. Like, for example, I find my panel layouts/page comps to be pretty lacking sometimes, so I'll look at layouts of people's work I admire and see what they do to spice it up and try to incorporate some of those elements into my own work.

fun fact! I'd actually done this research for the AU but i've forgotten a good chunk of it. but here are some things that I do recall:

fish distribution is basically how it sounds: the distribution of fish in specific areas. if you need to figure out where this specific fish lives then best use that term in your research.

someone actually died from being impaled by a sailfish (or maybe it was a swordfish- I don't remember which)

there's such a thing as dolphin fish, and you can find them in Hawaii!

yellowfin tuna are probably bigger than your head

the fashion is loosely inspired by Native Americans that lived near the Northwest coastline. been playing around with adding indigenous culture to WTSG AU (this is a side passion project but i'm more than happy to answer any questions!)

anyways Metal Sonic is owning that fashion runaway
