Is it a prop? Is it a puppet? Dunno but trying to model it in 3d was a bust so here we go the old fashioned way...
- The base frame needed either more wire or more cardboard disks, because she got wonky while i was building up the tape/cellophane top layer.
- took a paper- tape pattern off the side i liked better and traced it off, then corrected some of the curves. Will need to add seam allowance and/or boning channels.
- marked where the body hit with washi tape so i could take off that mess and start building up the shapes I need for the head.
Would this be easier with some sort of clay or paper mache? Probably. Dollar store cling film and packing tape is what I got.
Current costs:
~ $5 in cling film and (unused) aluminum foil
~ $3.50 for holiday cat toys, saved the bubble they came in (clearanced & out of season when big lots went under), $0.50 off-season clearance christmas ornament
~ 0.00 for wire, packing tape, washi tape from the stash.
