you know what, "because i'm in pain" is a good enough reason as any. why do you want to take meds? in pain. why do you wanna cancel? in pain. why didn't you want to talk? in pain. yeah don't be a jerk to everyone you meet and expect them to welcome that. but why were you being a jerk? in pain. it's a reasonable explanation. being in pain should be enough of an explanation. it should be considered an immediate problem that we try to fix as soon as possible instead of expecting the vast majority of people alive to just get on with it.

in reference to my last rb -

there are many reasons i cut off a bunch of my old friends but a big one is that they would NEVER STOP making jokes about my boyfriend being an Egg. it was fucking constant and they would do it to his face too. "he does all the stereotypical transfem stuff he wears girly clothes and makeup and he's a compsci nerd everyone knows compsci nerds are closeted and his online name is a girl's name and always has a girl character pfp and blah blah blah stereotype stereotype stereotype"

and it was insane because they were all trans too so like?? they of all people should know how it feels to be stereotyped like that? they would constantly put pressure on him to question things about himself just because he is gnc... and they would be like "he's dating you and youre nonbinary so it MUST mean something." as if he is the first cis guy ever to be gnc and datng a nonbinary person. as if he cannot be bi and gnc and still be cis

and it sucks because my boyfriend HAS talked to me about his struggles with identity and how he doesnt want to label his gender as anything. and so when people are constantly calling him an Egg it just puts more pressure on him and he feels like he needs to look deeper than what he's comfortable with

and it's like?? if he happens to come out one day or decides to explore his gender identity more, then that should be his own decision and not the result of constant "he's a walking stereotype and he will crack soon" jokes

I once said something along the lines of "why does everyone assume that every gnc cis man is an egg" and was harassed for it and sarcastically told that obviously the treatment of cis men should be our biggest concern and that I didn't know anything about egg culture (I do). You do realize that gnc people are queer too, right? You realize I can concern myself with "smaller" problems, because I love gnc people and am concerned about their well-being? You realize that telling people they must be trans because of their presentation is just as bad as telling someone must be cis for the same reasons?

I'm never going to shut up about how shitty the queer community treats gender non-conforming people, especially gender non-conforming men.

The other day my wife told me about this influencer who said she needed to go on ozempic so she could go from 130 lbs down to 115 and I really cannot stress the degree to which we have so COMPLETELY lost the plot with this glp1 shit. Like not only are people are going on this shit for purely cosmetic purposes, the cosmetic purposes are delusional. This is the kind of mindset that gives people eating disorders but now because you can get a prescription instead of having to starve yourself or enduce vomiting a big swath of the general public seems eager to go along with it.
