This post is going to be a pure surge of unhinged inspiration and sheer joy of creative process.
Not without help from the MAWS showrunner Jake Wyatt, who dropped an incredibly beautifully drawn bald Lex concept. He looked so, sooooo good. I decided to draw a study it in my sketchbook, but with hair, and give it a twist with shadow and highigts colors. It also inpired me to use alcoholic markers for shading in traditional artwork.
So, when I was sketching him bald, I suddenly noticed very subtle but convincing appearance similarities to STAS Lex, only significantly younger and probably before he decided to hit the gym.
And HEAR ME OUT! He's stull so insanely beautiful even with no hair.
Then I proceeded to add hair and mark out the shadows according to a reference.
My god! I think I had a reaction similar to how Alfred reacted upon seeing Bruce as Batman for the first time in Mask of the Phantasm. He looks hot, confident, and dangerous! HOW DID THAT HAPPEN?! Still, all the credit goes to the original artwork's artist.
And I suddenly had really strong inspiration both for possible Lex-related creativity and ideas, and for my own ideas regarding my OCs and stuff, only because Lex is looking so insanely epic!
How did that just suddenly appear on the page of my sketchbook?! Did I just suddenly sell my soul to the 2D art Satan, and this is how he decided to manifest?! Anyways, I got carried away and did some post-editing on it so here it is, with some process sequence.
Note for my tiny Slexer's party: This is a kind of Lex Slade wouldn't date to brake up with. It would be fucking impossible. LOOK AT THIS MAN!
