A Pairs Squabble

Guys I'm not dead- This was for a ask, but I feel like it's not at all what the anon wanted so I apologize lol :/

Summary:

You find yourself having a argument with the hero of Legend, and have to resolve it

There was always something to be said by the hero of Legend. A snide comment here, a smart remark there, it was how he showed affection. So far, it had been fine! The other heroes didn’t mind all the callous remarks made by the red dawning hero, ignoring it. Those who had an issue had spoken to Legend to resolve it; like adults. 

You were near a breaking point at his comments though. It was royally pissing you off. Sure, you could find the helpful undertones if you squinted hard enough, but at surface level, he failed at communication. It wasn’t only that though, his tone was absolutely horrendous. You found yourself annoyed with his antics on a daily level, to no surprise to yourself. His interpreted “ego” becoming unbearable to you. 

Legend, in turn, found frustration in your behaviour. The communication between you two so poor it was a miracle you still managed to hold civil conversations. You still cared for each other deeply, make no mistake. Inwardly, you and the Veteran care strongly for each other. A fact concealed by lack of proper communication by you two. 

All this leads to where you are now. ‘

You stumble forward for the umpteenth time in a row, the weight of the short sword in your palm throwing you off completely as you practice your foot drills. 

“This is useless, I'm not learning anything.” You state, tossing the blade into the dewey grass that climbs at your boots. Legend moves to grab the hilt, brows furrowed in what looks like frustration. “I have no idea how this is throwing you off so bad, it’s gotta be a talent of yours."

Your face contorts with rage directed towards the pink haired hero. “The fuck do you have up your ass??” You shouted at the Hero, fingers curling to form fists at your side. “I know I'm not great with a sword or weapon but you don’t need to be a bitch when you train me!” 

“I have something up my ass??” Legend scoffed, continuing. “The fuck is wrong with you?? If anyone has something up their ass, it’d be you. I'm trying to keep your ungrateful ass safe.” 

“Yeah, sure, keep me safe by fucking suffocating me! There’s a diffrence in teaching and coddling, and your fucking coddling me.” 

“If you want to go get yourself skewered by a moblin, please, be my guest. I’ve tried so many methods but apparently you're dumber than a flock of coucous, so please, tell me I have a stick up my ass for training you again.”

Legend makes a showy act of sheathing the short sword, turning away from you. 

“When you’re ready to act like an adult I'll train you again.”

The Chain didn’t know the full story of what happened, but could tell the tension between you two was high. The angry and downright deadly glares you sent each other enough to make even the other heroes feel as if they would be on the receiving end of one if they tried to intervene. It was weighing on the group dynamics. 

This was until a very observant Wind pointed out you slipping a vial of ointment into the Vets bag. 

From there, they paid further attention to the behaviour from you and the Legendary hero. Though you both held such a severe grudge against one another, there was a consistent behaviour observed by the rest of the group of small, hidden acts of kindness for one another. 

As days turned to a near two weeks of back and forth, vocal arguments then kind gestures behind the others back, Twilight eventually decided to speak up.

“Yall’re actin’ worse than a pair o’ kiddos.” He scoffed one day, turning heads. 

“I beg your pardon?” You demand of the Twilight hero. 

“I mean what I said! The pair of ya ain’t getting along worth naut, and then being kind behind each other's back. Yer actin’ like Colin and Beth.”

Now that caught your attention.

You were honestly in a speechless state of sorts. Genuinely baffled by the hero comparing y'all to children. 

“The fuck?” Legend seemed to have shared your thoughts. 

You thought back to all the small acts of kindness being done discreetly for you, finding your laundry done, a new bar of tallow soap (a luxury among this crew) in your bag after a visit to a castle town when you made a big deal of trying to find some and being unable. 

Was…. was all that Legend? Based on the contemplation on his face it very well could have been, and no doubt he was contemplating the small acts of kindness you were discreetly showing him, his mind was probably running a mile a minute as he replayed the last two weeks in his mind over and over. 

‘We need to have a talk then.’ You decide, resolving to approach him when the time was right.

Luckily, you didn’t have to wait long. You found yourself approached by Legend later that night, whilst the Chain sat around the fire, conversations lifting up over the smoke and filling the clearing in which y’all resided with laughter and the joyous sounds of comradery. 

“We need to have a talk.” He said simply, to which you nodded and began rising to your feet.

He led you towards the furthest end of the clearing, and lowered himself against a tree with a grunt. You followed him to the ground sitting besides him. 

“So…” You try to start, the words escaping you. 

“We have to talk about that… fight for lack of better words.” Legend spoke, turning to look you in the eyes. “I genuinely have no qualms with you, I was getting really frustrated and shouldn’t have shouted or berated, but you shouldn’t have either. I wasn’t coddling you, I’m trying to make sure you don’t die. But you aren’t understanding that, you just see me being an asshole.”

You look away and let it sink in for a moment. 

“It’s the way you speak to me and about me that pissed me off.” You pause for a long moment before taking a deep breath, heart racing, 

“I enjoy your company so much, and I said a lot of things in anger to you, it wasn’t right. I don’t want that argument to linger longer though, I’m sorry it took so long to talk to you adult to adult.” You finish it and you both sit in silence for a long moment contemplating. 

“We good now?” Legend gently asked after a few minutes of shared silence, violet eyes boring into your own. 

“Yeah…. Yeah we are.”

So, how exactly does Christianity work in TLOZ? With modern Christianity, it very clearly denounces magic, and other gods (with the exception of some Bibles, through a verse in psalms). It is very clear in Hyrules games that he carries a cross, and appears to practice Christianity as a religion yet then uses magic

This has NOT been edited, and was simply thrown together in a coffee shop before work so I'll post it as a Individual one shot later once I clean it up- ignore how short it is

The Chain had been hard at work on expanding their Fae blooded brother's palette. You found the entire event amusing, watching as he would sink in to countless fruits. So far, Hydromelons seem to be his favorite, but oranges are very much up there.

Now, this was all fine and dandy, until one considers the… other members of the citrus family. Hyrule had tried a lemonade Wild had made, the drink half sugar to counteract the tart taste in order to protect him from the bitter (ha) truth of the yellow fruit.

All was well, until Hyrule requested a slice of the lemon Wild was preparing alongside a meal.

“Uh, I'm not sure you'd like this..” He trailed off making glances at the hero in front of him. “It's not exactly… sweet.” He finished, turning to you for help.

“You won't like that one-” You stalled glancing to where Wind sat with a forcibly sweet look on his face. “Come on!” He exclaimed, swiping a lemon wedge off the plate and popping the flesh in his mouth. His face showed only the slightest hint of discomfort at the sour taste before he was offering a second wedge to Hyrule.

“Wind no-”

“Wind, yes.” He declared, waving the wedge in Hyrule's face. “They're delicious!”

Hyrule cautiously looked between the three of you, clearly unsure what to do. No one was screaming or yanking it, and Wind looked fine..

He missed the growing grin on Wind’s face as he slowly lifted the wedge up to his lips.

He missed the hesitant glance you shared with Wild.

He did NOT miss the assault of his taste buds that followed immediately after he took a bite of the fruit.

“Oh Hylia!” He shouted, spitting the fruit from his mouth and onto the ground.

Wind doubled over in a full belly laugh, tears peeking out from the corners of his eyes.

He had been betrayed.

My poor Sky baby is probably sick very often. He went from a very isolated environment, with a fairly normal climate year round, to getting thrust into a whole new germ fest of Hyrule.

He tries SOOOO hard yet his poor immune system was not built for a castle town. He was sick almost 100% of the time when he first met the chain and began the adventure.

i want to see him suffer more in fics :(
