It's been a bit over a year since I got laser eye surgery and it really made me realize how downplayed myopia is as a disability.
I can do so much more now, I don't have to worry or think about anything.
No lost glasses/lense
No worry about how to bring the lense solution when I travel
No worry about sanitazing lenses or breaking glasses if I go camping
No worry about lack of side/top/bottom view with glasses
No worry about going swimming, martial art, physical activities in general
Being able to see in the morning, under the shower.
No headache from vision going from correction to blindness
Not worrying about not being able to fucking see farther than my hand
So much money and time saved
I was -7 before, now I have perfect vision and it makes me so angry that myopia isn't taken more seriously/helped more.
"But glasses solve the issue"
No it really doesn't. Now that I don't need them anymore I can see (lol) how imperfect, restrictive and impractical they are.
