“My Prince, our guests have entered the Kingdom”.
Alexander hears that and excuses himself from an attendant that was determined to ‘fix’ his hair. He gave her an appreciate smile “It’s quiet alright, Marisa, I like my locks tousled.” Sparing the messenger a gracious smile he marched out of his royal chambers, mentally going over the last encounter he had with Prince Aron.
That tremendously bored face still made his lips quirk in a small smile. After a brief meeting with his father The King in which he asserted he will not be his father’s puppet, Alexander made his way towards the Palace library, instructing his guards to alert him as soon as their guests were escorted into the Palace.
Once they were at the palace gate numerous guards waited at the foot of the steps to great them. Dismounting his horse, with one of his guards and his advisor following suit, a few of the palace guards led the second guard that was still mounted on his own away so they could store their horses and carriage safely at the stables. He was welcomed with low bows and broad gestures to follow and so he did. The meeting were always held in the same place, the library. Even in his own Kingdom this is where his father insisted that the monthly meetings be held. Both Kings seemed to agree that were they surrounded by knowledge and words that the meetings would remain civil. Aron knew the way to the Lightwoods library almost as well as he knew his own. Sometimes if he was feeling bold he would close his eyes and try to simply rely on his ears and muscle memory to find his way to the library. Soon though he was at the grand double doors that led into the library, two guards standing there awaiting his arrival. They pushed the doors open and standing there waiting for him was Alexander Lightwood. “Hello your Highness.” Aron greeted as he walked in, bowing low his guard and advisor followed his lead. “Thank you for the safe passage into your Kingdom.” It felt silly every time to say but he learned young that it was impolite to not thank the host of his stay.
