Sion awoke with a start. It was still early. He panted softly, looking around with wide eyes at the dimly lit room before releasing a sigh, crossing his arms and rubbing them. He couldn't recall having had a nightmare, but the room was freezing cold, which he felt despite having fallen asleep in his sweater, and he had the eerie feeling he was being watched. More keenly than usual, at least.
Sitting up and swinging his legs out of bed, Sion stood, and something cold touched the back of his neck, a soft caress, brushing his hair aside. Alarmed, his hand flew to the nape of his neck and he wheeled around, but was greeted by nothing more than the wall.
Cautiously, Sion padded to the bathroom with the intent to shower, quiet in case his roommates were still asleep. When he pushed the door open, a scream caught itself in his throat and he staggered back, bringing a hand up to his mouth. There in the tub lay the dead body of an old man, shriveled and gray-skinned with hair completely colorless. A black patch at the man's neck began to squirm and tear, and a sudden horror flooded inside Sion. But when he blinked and shook his head, the white porcelain tub was empty. There was no body.
Hands shaking, Sion turned away from the bathroom, unable to bring himself to shower after what he had just witnessed. He though he could hear buzzing, but he sped to the door of his room and threw it open. He must be going crazy cooped up in that place.
As he stepped out, however, Sion realized that he wasn't on his floor. That's... strange... maybe I didn't pay attention the first time I came here. There's no way... He thought, swallowing and crossing his arms defensively. The buzzing was back.
Elevators... elevators...
However, as he turned the corner, a woman came hurtling at him, screaming. He let out a cry as she seemed to age decades before his eyes in the span of only a few seconds, and once again yelled out when she fell on him, dead, and a black wasp fluttered into his line of vision. Feeling sick, Sion collapsed beneath the woman's weight, eyes shut. When he held his hands out to push the corpse away, he grasped at air, and when he opened his eyes once more, he didn't see anything, no wasp, no dead body.
Buzzing still in his ears, he ran to the elevators, stumbling into one and pressing the button for the first floor. He leaned his back against the wall of the elevator, heart pounding. Before he reached the lobby, the elevator stopped and opened its doors to reveal two people, which immediately fell lifeless to Sion's feet, contorting in pain before his eyes. The buzzing filled his ears once more, surrounded him, drowned out everything else.
Clutching his head, Sion screamed and ran out.
Right into another person. Wide-eyed, the teen stared up at the other, another scream rising in his throat. But the two bodies behind him were gone, and the person before him appeared to be alive and breathing, displaying no signs of premature aging. Sion grasped the front of their shirt tightly to reassure himself, hands shaking.
There are no parasite wasps here! Get a hold of yourself!
"... s-sorry," he finally managed to rasp out, "There were two bodies... did you... see them?" he asked shakily, looking over his shoulder without releasing his grip, "What is this place?!"
