Why is it that every time Dante tries to do bonding activities with us, it always ends up somebody dying? The first time happened after Sinclair's turn. The manager had thought it might be nice to do a bit of bonding to get us closer together. They had found a board game and decided to gather all the sinners they could. And by that, barely anyone joined. Yi Sang, Don Quixote, Hong Lu, and Sinclair were happy to join. Meursault didn't seem to care either way, so he joined. Outis, seeing it as an order from the manager, joined too. She sort of also tried to force the others, including me, to join. But she was then stopped by the manager. The game was called City Domination, a board game where you try to dominate the city's economy with the power of chance, thus counting as gambling. Rodya happily joined because of that fact and forcefully dragged Gregor in it, too.
Faust, Ryoshu, Heatchcliff, and Ishmael didn't bother coming. Each had their own reasons. Faust said she had other matters to attend to, Ryoshu said (through Sinclair's translation) that the game was for kids, Heathcliff and Ishmael thought that the whole thing was pointless As for me, Don Quixote did try to drag me in, but I just shrugged her off. I had far more important matters to do during my break than playing a board game. But from what I got from Yi Sang, the "bonding" didn't end up the way Dante had planned. Being a gambling master, Rodya had claimed most of the land in the game, which forced most to lose quite quickly. The only ones that held on were Meursault, Outis, and Sinclair. Albeit Sinclair is hanging on by a thread. This caused both Outis and Sinclair to lose their cool. Surprisingly, Sinclair seemed to be very competitive despite knowing it was just a simple game.
Then it happened... Rodya had claimed Sinclair's last plot of land, causing him to lose. (Well... he technically hadn't lost yet. The rules say you lost when you have no more money to spend. But since the last of his land had been claimed, he will end up paying either Meursault, Outis, or Rodya until his money is gone. So, he lost by default on the account he has nothing to get money from.) I suppose something broke in him and he started raging everywhere. Meursault and Outis instinctively protected the manager while Sinclair proceeded to slash anyone in his way. In the end, Yi Sang and Don Quixote died. And thus starts the cycle of game nights where someone dies by the end of it. How troublesome...
