I'm sorry but no, you cannot choose to be a therian nor choose your theriotype. Children need to stop entering spaces that have existed longer than they have and trying to redefine them. I used to be more open to the idea of chosen therians but they've obviously driven out the beings who actually are animals, and made us feel unwelcome in our own community.

Most of you aren't therians you're animal roleplayers, which is fine, but don't steal our terms.

This is only true if you live in a very liberal area, have parents that accept you/don't care/you don't live with, have money, and your psych/therapist/doctor is willing to write you a prescription. None of the psychiatrists, psychologists, or therapists i've spoken to would take my lifelong dysphoria seriously enough to even consider writing me a prescription. And even if they did I still live with a family that I know for a fact would come out against it and throw away any hormones I managed to get my hands on. Also not everyone wants to give their ID and SSN to some shady site to get diy that may or may not get seized anyway.
