You can see the light, right? So can I…

❛ Oh? Sorry.. it’s only because I felt threatened. That’s why I acted without thinking. Never fought demons like this before… what about you? You seemed to fight them so easily even though I have magic. ❜
Her stern expression from before simply softened after listening to his explanation. A part of her wanted to apologize but her pride held her back from even doing so. The thought was pushed for an indefinite amount of time a the raven haired male mentioned having magic, which admittedly left her feeling confused.
“The simplest way to explain it is that I was trained under the yokai taijiya for a long time. I have to question how a human is capable of having magic in their arsenal, however.”
//I forgot to mention it on here but, I’m currently on hiatus until February 12th at the very latest. I know I’m not on this block as much as I am on my main RP one as is, but I felt it was important to mention it here.
//It really is a kuudere/tsundere type of night, yikes.

“This time period isn’t one where you can just attack your opponent without any thought.”
“Humans are so careless...”

She’d stop in her tracks at the sight of a man of average build casually napping along the side walk. Before, she wouldn’t have cared much to even so much as take a glance at someone who was definitely unfamiliar to her. After all, much of her focus was protecting her now former master from the shadows for any potential threat. In this case... Why did she bother with even taking so much as a look at a stranger for more than just a few moments. At least the other appeared to be... Peaceful. But this really wasn’t the most ideal place to be in such a vulnerable position, she would know from experience.
Kirio knelt down to the man’s level with one hand rested above her dominant leg before reaching out to him with her other hand. Cautiously, she’d poke the raven haired male on the shoulder. No dice. A sigh left her while she attempted to wake the other up with another tap. The potential attack from him wasn’t exactly something she was unprepared for.
Although if he did lunge himself at her, she would be lecturing herself later on about approaching someone she doesn’t even know. She didn’t even know why she was doing this. After a moment or two, she’d taken notice to the male opening his eyes while he sluggishly turned over which caused her to slightly back up with her muscles slightly tensed up.
“Hey. It’s a bad idea to be sleeping outside and near a bench no less.”
"About the waifu crap..."
"Don't. Mention. Anything. Further."
"Seriously... Forget about it."
What is your waifu stats?

"I don't know what the point in this "game" was, but count me out of anything like this in the future."

I have such a bad habit of not doing this.
“Ina-chin’s getting shy!”
miraruinada:
“Yeah, I spilled it over myself. Though it’s not almond, it’s my special nut blend.”
“Your... Special nut blend?”
“Anyhow... How did you manage to spill it on yourself?”

☣ ~ Claire Redfield ~ ☣
Leon kept his head down a bit ashamed in his current state. He didn’t think he’d get a visitor, but even though he wouldn’t be able to openly admit it yet, he was glad that she stopped by to see him. Leon didn’t have the confidence in him yet to even talk to his cherished friends, not like this, so if it hadn’t been for her visit, Leon would have likely been knee deep into the bottom of a bottle by now on the verge of another blackout drunk. But he had so many hazy pockets of memory the last few nights, all of it a blur, likely because of the aforementioned cause. This whole side of him was unbecoming to the man she likely knew he was, he didn’t blame her for the shock in reaction to his confession. There had truly been quite the dark cloud following him lately.
Silence as he sits there before he feels the couch springs move and creak briefly as she sat down next to him, the silence finally being broken by her soft voice. Although he had not allowed himself to contact anyone, hearing her genuine care and concern for him did provide him some warmth in this harsh time of his. Knowing that someone would have come running to his side was at least comforting, something hadn’t really felt in a long time. A silent breathy sigh follows before he answers her question.
[{ ☣ }] - “I…guess I wasn’t strong enough to let someone see me like this..” He didn’t know for sure why he had blocked everyone out, so this reason seemed to make enough sense to him.
He would have continued to hang his head low due to everything, but this changed as soon as he felt her hands slowly make its way over top of his, especially when he felt her frame begin to gently lean on him. Even if this was out of comfort, Leon enjoyed this. This tender moment had been the first form of human contact he’d felt in too long, so it was easy to see he was giving into her comfort, for once, it felt nice not having to deal with his demons alone. He wondered why he didn’t let himself talk to anybody. Maybe he was afraid of what they would think about him, something along the lines of that, but Claire, was showing him that it didn’t matter, at least to her. He should have remembered he could always trust her, part of their special connection he had forgotten about due to his wallowing.
He closed his eyes to take in the feeling of her next to him, this made him realize how lonely he had been too. His main issue was his career, and dying will to fight, but he’d forgotten about another big thing that had added to his tough times. Ada. The fact he had basically waited his whole life for her, only to be thrown in the fire and burned, it was a shitty feeling.
His expression softened significantly as she mentioned she’d rather see him in a dark place that dead and in the ground, a cryptic feeling came from that sentence upon realizing how close he may have come to that if it had not been for her surprise visit.
[{ ☣ }] - “..Yeah…same here..”
A small shake of his head at her apology, he should have contacted her sooner.
[{ ☣ }] - “You don’t need to apologize..”
A brief silence as he finds what he could inside him to make him open up more.
[{ ☣ }] - “Honestly…… I’m..uh.. glad you came..”
Briefly, she would shift her head to place her gaze onto him while he shook his own. It was a relief to hear that there was nothing to apologize for. Seeing him like this, in his lowest... It was an unusual sight for her. Leon always appeared completely level headed even in the most desperate of moments, but it had been clear that there came a point where that confidence and overall laid back demeanor of his was, to put it simply... A foil. It was clear to see that his facade was caving on him on an intense level prior to his drinking.
“I’m... I’m really glad too. I don’t know what would’ve happened otherwise...”
It was obvious to her what he would have done of course, but the aftermath of the drinking could have proven to be fatal or at the very least, he would have potentially landed in the hospital. But thank God that wasn’t the case. He was here, beside her. Maybe somehow she had been able to stop him. Cleaning up the mess and any remainders of alcohol in the fridge could wait until later. Ensuring his safety was imperative and top priority to her.
“I understand where you’re coming from on that.” She took a breath and held it for a moment before sighing. “I felt like I needed to keep myself together around Moira when we were on that island and facing Alex Wesker. I didn’t feel like myself then.”
For a moment, her head fell back into place on his shoulder. Close physical contact like this wasn’t something she’d do for anyone. Leon was... different. He’d been someone she considered to be a dear friend, although this time felt like it contrasted with previous times that they reunited. Her thumb brushed along the back of his knuckles in a gentle circular motion. Claire’s blue eyes would narrow upwards to look up at him.
During this silence, it almost looked as though he’d been moments from completely falling to pieces entirely. Witnessing Leon in this state was heart-rending to her due to her having been witness to alot of what he went through, whether that be directly or indirectly. Nervously, her teeth nibbled on her bottom lip for a few seconds at the urge of inching closer. Wouldn’t it be awkward for her to proceed further than this. For a moment, Claire closed her eyes and held her breath for a moment before she wrapped both of her arms around Leon. The embrace around him was gentle enough so that he could pull away if he so desired.
@miraruinada
“I don’t know who you are, but there is evidence that suggests that you’re the one who spilled the... Nut milk. Almond milk, specifically.”
chxckandmxte:
What could he really say? It had been hard to find anything to say given to what she was currently witnessing, hard evidence of Leon’s downward spiral that began after that goddamn nightmare mission back in DC, his whole squad had been wiped out, all thanks to a mole who had revealed the location of his team. Leon being the lone survivor wasn’t new to him, but this time, every single one in his platoon killed in a rainfall of bullets, they were all slaughtered so quickly, and the mission had only just started, and with his team gone, there was no bomb expert, so the bomb they had tried to stop, ended up going off. Leon wasn’t blamed for the missions result as no one at HQ had expected a rat. The event had shaken his will to fight, the core of his burning passion to continue the fight had died out leaving him a miserable and doubtful man. He HATED the fact Claire was getting a direct look on his pain, his suffering, his W E A K N E S S.
Leon never liked to show others his pain, he was always so adamant on keeping this aura of unshakable confidence. But, each day that passed, that old flame would continue to diminish bit by little bit. There was no point in keeping up a pointless battle, a war that truly didn’t seem to have an end. Some people, Leon would be able to handle seeing him like this, but of all people, it had to be Claire. He didn’t like her seeing him so, tired, hopeless, and nearly broken. He was vulnerable, a part of him he hoped no one would ever witness.
His rough expression would slowly begin to drop as he hears the worry in her tone when addressing him. Finally, he gave into Claire’s concern, he couldn’t really do anything else but that right now, there was no excuse to cover up what she was seeing with her own two eyes. His eyes cast down to the ground, closing, his expression softens with a sigh.
Blue eyes finally meet as he throws up the white flag, finally discarding his tough exterior, the disappointment and shame in himself evident in his eyes.
[{ ☣ }] - “…What if I told you, I was trying to die?” He answers in a somber tone.
A brief silence after his statement.
Defeat in his posture, he sits down on the couch, pushing over some empty Whiskey bottles.
[{ ☣ }] - “Congratulations…you’re the first person to see me at rock bottom..”
It was hard to look at her again, he hated her seeing the sadness and pain in his eyes. Leon had always been there for Claire, he did his best to stay strong. But recently, staying strong had just been far too difficult to handle.
“What...” Was all that she could get out of her throat. Claire who had clearly been lost for words felt a tightness in her throat which formed a small albeit firm knot. Her eyebrows were furrowed downwards, not out of anger but out of genuine shock. Of course, she was aware of the events that took place prior to his downward spiral... Even if it wasn’t in full detail. Due to the amount of alcohol that would lay in his apartment as well as the specific brands, it appeared that he was gradually turning to the stronger stuff. Drinks that could turn even make a person with the highest tolerance drunk.
Flashbacks of Steve coursed through her mind in quick sequences up until Alexia infected him with the virus, turning him essentially into her plaything. Claire failed to prevent that from happening - Steve chose to sacrifice himself that day, but she would be lying if she didn’t blame herself for what happened. Claire failed to save the fellow Rockfort prisoner who came to be her partner on the island, and now... Her most consistent partner against the mess that is Umbrella and the companies that followed it was near the edge of potentially dying.
The knot in her throat loosened as the pain in her chest grew. Somehow and in some way, she could understand Leon’s grief. This was probably the first time she fully saw him broken down like this. Claire saw some cracks in his almost always confident demeanor, but this is nothing compared to that. The crease in her eyebrows softened as she tried to swallow any urge to break down as well. There was no way in hell she’d be helping him if she broke down now. Soft sounds of footsteps followed her as she came closer before sitting down beside him on the couch.
His dirty blond locks obstructed her view of his expression, but based on his defeated tone she was able to conclude that he finally allowed the cement walls around him to drop. If not fully, then for the most part at the very least. “Why... Why didn’t you contact me? You know I would have come to you in a heart beat if you did...” The question she asked was almost rhetorical. Because at the same time, she knew that he wasn’t the type to show his emotions so easily. Confidence or stoic expressions were what she usually saw on him after the Raccoon City incident.
One of her hands found its way to his, cupping it as gently as possible while the side of her form leaned against him. These actions were done almost absent mindedly. A part of her wanted to plead with him to not continue down this path. She wanted more than anything to help Leon through this. “I’m glad... Really glad you didn’t lie to me. Not that you would’ve been able to anyway, just... I’d rather see you at rock bottom than 6 feet under the ground.” Her voice managed to softly crack, just a little.
“I... I’m sorry. For coming here without contacting you first, but maybe it’s for the best that I arrived here without prior notice.”
